In the past four editions of Young Flamenco Suma This showcase of young artists has been consolidated at the Suma Flamenca Festival. This year's challenge is to maintain the level of acceptance among fans and the general public, as well as the motivation and inspiration of the artists. As usual, soloists under 30 years of age, that is, those born after December 31, 1994, will participate.
The Community of Madrid wants to support the new values of cante, dance and flamenco concert guitar, facilitating the Green Room of the Canal Theaters with a technical and production team that will be in charge of optimal sound and lighting means so that artists can showcase Art with class Flamenco "by right."
It is always good to remember that in the life of an artist there are two crucial moments, the beginning of his career in the difficult world of Flamenco and the final years of his seniority. Maturity brings the necessary experience as a performer and creator to truly grasp the scale of a work of art, the capacity for synthesis, the authority of the word, the message, and proximity—in short, artistic excellence.
Beginnings, however, translate into other enormous and essential benefits: those that come from freshness and ambition, from the courage and audacity to embark on paths and experiences without a safety net, and from the irrevocable determination to tell one's life through art. These are moments of artistic and creative energy with an undeniable intensity and truth, difficult to compare at other stages of one's career.
The fifth edition of Young Flamenco Suma It is set up as a four-day cycle, and each day will feature a guitar soloist, a male or female singer, and a male or female dancer. The stage on which they will display their art will be the Green Room of the Canal Theaters and in that magnificent space we will enjoy the art of Reyes Carrasco, David Fernández, Lole de los Reyes y Juan Anguita of Sevilla, Irene Morales y Hope Garrido from Granada, Pablo Heredia from Cadiz, Nerea Carrasco from Madrid, Celia Romero from Badajoz, Yoel Vargas from Tarragona, José Luis Kaele from Valladolid and Andjela Misic from Serbia.
