Utrera once again becomes the epicenter of flamenco with the celebration of III Cycle Flamenco and Gitano 2025, an event to be held from November 9 to 30 that pays tribute to the 15th anniversary of the declaration of Flamenco as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO as well as the 600th anniversary of the arrival of the Roma people in Spain.
Its presentation took place at the House of Culture (Utrera), with the presence of the delegate of Culture, Maria Jose Garcia Arroyo, the secretary of the Peña Curro de Utrera Flamenco Cultural Center, Manuel Rendón, and The Extremaduran, one of the artists participating in the cycle.
The program, organized by Utrera City HallThrough its Department of Culture and Historical Heritage, the city council has organized twelve cultural events, including shows, screenings, lectures, and free guided tours. This program aims to celebrate the rich cultural fusion, coexistence, and flamenco and gypsy heritage that are essential to Utrera's identity.
The series also has the collaboration of Peña Curro de Utrera Flamenco Cultural Center, the Asociation The Compass that unites us and renowned filmmakers such as Pilar Tavora y Alfonso SanchezIn addition to the support of the Municipal Tourism Area, which has designed three free guided routes through heritage sites linked to flamenco and Gypsy culture.
"An agenda that seeks to celebrate the richness of cultural fusion, coexistence, and the flamenco and gypsy heritage that are an essential part of Utrera's identity."
A diverse program open to all audiences
The activities will take place in different venues throughout the city, including the Enrique de la Cuadra Municipal Theater, the Casa Surga and the Peña Curro de Utrera Flamenco Cultural Center. All shows and screenings will be free of charge until full capacity is reached, except for one in the theater, with tickets available through the Giglón platform.

- Thursday, November 27 (18:00 p.m. – Enrique de la Cuadra Municipal Theatre)Screening of the documentary “Great Gypsy Roundup. History of a Genocide”, by Pilar Távora, which addresses the tragic events of 1749 against the Gypsy people.
- Sunday, November 30 (12:30 p.m. – Enrique de la Cuadra Municipal Theatre)A performance by Juan Tomás de la Molía and a tribute to Cristina Heeren, president of the Foundation that bears her name and a key figure in flamenco training. During the event, the dancer will be presented with an award in recognition of his career.
The Delegate for Culture and Tourism, María José García Arroyo, encourages all Utrera residents and visitors "to participate in this open, free and diverse program, which seeks to focus on the tradition, coexistence and cultural fusion that define our city."
