The Jerez guitarist, at the height of his artistic success, was also the person in charge of inaugurating the prestigious International Mines Festival of La Unión just a few dates ago. A competition where he won the Bordón Minero in 2003, by the way. On this occasion he played at home, surrounded by his family and showing his vital expression on the stage of the The González Byass Cooperage Winery.

A masterful guitar concert lasting over two hours without diminishing the intensity of its guitar message for a single moment. Antonio Rey He made a complete itinerary with most of the cuts from his album Stories of a flamenco (Gongs Series, 2024) and which earned him his second Latin Grammy. A universality that he embodies like few others on stage and which he sealed with a moving tribute to the maestro. Paco de Lucía.

Antonio had as second guitar Manuel Heredia, cante from his sister Mara Rey, the percussions of Alex de Gitanería y Ane Carrasco, the flute and harmonica of Fran Roca, the choirs of Raúl Obregón with Yona Luna and the electric bass of José Manuel Posada 'Popo'The dancer Joaquin Grilo performed as a guest artist.

And here are our photo chronicles (*), which have the necessary cooperation of the photographer Adrian Fatou @Photographic Archive of the Tío Pepe Festival and the allusive text of the undersigned.

Each note by Antonio Rey takes you to a different place in the world.

(*) You already know from the previous post that this concept seeks to see a visual and literary flash. A short allusive text, verse, or flamenco lyrics as a caption to a unique photograph to interpret it at first glance. That is, a comment on the photo in question and not on the show, although they could always be related in some way. All the photos in this post are by Adrián Fatou @Tío Pepe Festival Photo Archive
