From August 21 to 23, 2025, the Cadiz town of Algodonales hosts the first edition of the Tagarnina Fest, festival flamenco that unites tradition, innovation, and heritage. Organized in emblematic spaces in the Sierra de Cádiz, this free event focuses on the contemporary flamenco dance, with a program that combines top-level shows, activities for the whole family, conferences, and cultural activities.
expoflamenco, as official sponsor, thus reinforces its commitment to the art promotion flamenco and with the projection of emerging and established artists on a national and international scale.
Roots and avant-garde in the Sierra de Cádiz
El Tagarnina Fest was born with a clear philosophy: to bring the flamenco to unique spaces, linking dance, culture, and the region. The festival pays tribute to the tagarnina, a wild plant typical of the region, as a symbol of roots, authenticity, and cultural attachment.
With the artistic direction of Francis Hidalgo, local dancer and choreographer, this event features a line-up of figures such as Leonor Leal, Macarena López, Sara Jiménez, Marco Flores and the Austrian speaker Susanne Zellinger.
The festival is supported by the Algodonales City Council, Cadiz Provincial Council, Andalusian Government (Ministry of Culture) and the recognition of the flamenco , the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity (UNESCO). They also sponsor it Valeriano Bernal Guitars y expoflamenco.
