Here's the story of two brothers united by the flamenco guitar. A reunion in the form of a gathering is a gift, because if Paco is in Australia, Santiago is constantly touring the world. But we were fortunate enough to bring them together and learn firsthand about the ups and downs that led them down different paths on the six-stringed instrument.
Paco Lara, the eldest and his brother's founder, was part of the Carbonero-Balao school and became a very versatile performer; he played with Los Delinqüentes as well as accompanied maestros such as Luis el Zambo and Juan Moneo Torta. Today, he strengthens his artistic life in Australia, where he gives concerts and has become a great ambassador for flamenco and from his Jerez land.
Santiago Lara, for his part, is hailed as one of the most brilliant guitarists of his generation, having oriented his career toward solo guitar, as well as forming a partnership on stage and in life with flamenco dancer Mercedes Ruiz. He came to present his album, "Concierto numero 1 para guitarra española y orquesta" (Concert Number XNUMX for Spanish Guitar and Orchestra), which pays great tribute to his artistry, but also to two great maestros who left a lasting impression on him: José Luis Balao and Manolo Sanlúcar.
