Since the beginning of our physical headquarters in Jerez, we have always had a great relationship with our friends in the Peña Flamenca Miguel Vargas de Paradas (Seville). A fraternity that was once again evident last Friday, May 13th, when they hosted the official presentation of their prestigious Flamenco Cultural Week, now in its 36th edition. The good people of Paradas either do things right or they don't do them at all. They even chartered a 55-seater bus to Jerez to attend the event in large numbers and then stayed in the city to enjoy some local wines on that radiant afternoon. That's seizing the opportunity, as they say. And we were more than delighted to welcome them back.

The press release for the event You can find the full story in our magazine. So I'm going to highlight a detail that seems essential to me: the presence of artists supporting the cultural initiative of Paradas, this year happily dedicated to José María Velázquez Gaztelu. Without diminishing the contributions of Reyes Carrasco, Caracolillo de Cádiz, Domingo Rubichi, or José Gálvez, the fact that two masters of the caliber of Juan Villar and Luis el Zambo have joined the cause carries enormous symbolic weight. They are two pillars of expression from Cádiz and Jerez, pillars upon which Hercules would surely envy. flamencoAnd there they left us a photo for posterity thanks to Studio Beni, photographer from the Sevillian town.
