A little less than a month ago, a new recording studio was opened in Jerez by Ángel Dorao and Curro Carrasco. It is called Singa and means Music in Caló. Since it opened its doors, the studio has intended to be much more than a place to record; its concept extends to being a school of rhythm and dance as well as a place for artistic encounters.
To explain all the details of Singa's philosophy, we received a visit from one of its promoters, Francisco Carrasco Soto, better known in the artistic world as Currito de Navajita Plateá. He also came with his sister Juana, who treasures, via her mother, that secret inherited from the Jerez bulería dance that she teaches in the new establishment.
