Seville hosts the Chavalerías series, a showcase of the future of dance. flamenco

FormArte Flamenco From September 27 to October 25, it hosts performances by five young flamenco dancers alongside renowned guests.

El flamenco The youngest and most promising has its space in Seville thanks to the cycle Youth, an initiative of the cultural project Café SilverioDirected by Juan Guerrero, in collaboration with the school FormArte Flamenco (Plaza del Pelicano 4, Local 6 – Seville), by the dancers José El Oruco y Karolina the BlackThis program was created with the aim of giving visibility to the new generations of flamenco dancers who, despite their young age, already demonstrate surprising talent and artistic maturity.

Inspired by that phrase from Pablo Picasso —“All children are born artists. The problem is how to continue being one when they grow up”—, the cycle brings together five young dancers selected for their projection, discipline and dedication, with the intention of sharing the stage with masters of cante, of touch and dance. The experience, in addition to being enriching, aims to instill in them the commitment and passion necessary for the flamenco may it continue to live and vibrate into the future. They are joined by renowned artists such as Rafael Campallo, La Choni, Nazarret Reyes, Susana Casas, Elena La More, Juan José Villar, and more.

 

Young people with a flamenco soul

The protagonists of this first edition are five artists who represent the diversity and expressive richness of flamenco Andalusian.

Andrea Martín (Chipiona, 15 years old). With a presence that captivates from the first measure, Andrea stands out for her pellizco and sensitivity. Since she was very young she has felt the call of flamenco And today, at just fifteen years old, she steps onto the stage with the confidence of someone born to dance.

Carmen Mateo (Utrera, 14 years old). The youngest member of the Utrera school, she brings freshness and a deep respect for tradition. Her dance is characterized by an air that connects with the roots of a land that has produced great figures in the arts. jondo.

Lola Rosendo (Cádiz, 17 years old). Awarded in multiple competitions - including first prizes at dance festivals at the Andalusian and national level - Lola combines strength and style with constant learning alongside masters such as Pastora Galván, Jesús Carmona, and Pilar Ogalla. She has performed at the Jerez Festival, the Bulería Festival, and tablaos in Seville and Cádiz. Her resume already demonstrates that of an artist with a long history, despite her youth.

María Florido (Cádiz, 19 years old). The oldest of the group, she represents the elegance and beauty of dance flamencoFormed with figures such as Lydia Cabello, Pilar Ogalla and Andrés Peña, has graced venues as important as the Seville Biennial and the Jerez Festival. Among her most recent achievements is winning first prize at the Hispalis National Dance Competition (Seville, 2024).

Daniela La Soleá (Cádiz, 13 years old). The youngest performer on the bill brings light and magic. Her natural grace and the enthusiasm with which she embraces dance make her a promising performer who, despite her young age, is already thrilling audiences.

A sowing for tomorrow

Chavalerías not only seeks to showcase the talent of these young dancers, but also to offer them the opportunity to share the stage with leading figures, nourished by the experience and complicity of live performances. In this way, the series sows in them the seed of commitment to art, ensuring that flamenco continue to grow in the hands of dedicated artists.

With this first edition, FormArte Flamenco y Flamenco Café Silverio reaffirms its commitment to the future of art jondo, betting on a cantewho already dazzles with her age, her flamenco style and her truth on stage.
