La Oscura waited until she turned eighty – she was born on December 8, 1945 – to take her Inés Suárez Jiménez with his brother Luis and her aunts Fernanda y BernardShe professed eternal admiration for them, showering them with affection and tender care until her last days. She passed away. Inés de Utrera, a dear, modest and kind woman who decided to dedicate herself body and soul to the Girls from Utreraeven abandoning his own artistic career. He silenced a sweet torrent of subtle gypsy spirit that formed a duo with his brother, with whom he recorded three albums and with whom he performed in The Sale of the Cat, Vermilion Towers o Caripén, the flamenco club of her good friend Lola Flores.

Inés looked breathtakingly beautiful. Manolo Caracol o Luis Sanz They wanted to make her a star, positioning her as the lead in shows and even considering possible forays into film, back in the years when Spanish song and cuplés were all the rage—something Inés mastered like no other, always within the framework of flamenco orthodoxy and aesthetics. Copla, bulerías, light music, rumbas, and tangos filled her crystalline voice, delighting discerning aficionados who saw in her talent an unparalleled artistic gem that blended Gypsy echoes with the sweetness of song. However, due to her aunts' excessive caution against her wandering the world and her deep attachment to her customs and her homeland, she remained behind her beloved Vía Marciala, up there at the top of a staircase with a handful of steps, always arm in arm with her brother, accompanying Fernanda and Bernarda de Utrera in sickness and in health, to the honor of her family and her own conscience. Because she did it proudly, without feeling any regret for the sacrifice.

"Manolo Caracol and Luis Sanz wanted to make her a high-profile figure, promoting her as the star of shows and even considering possible forays into film, back in the years when Spanish song and cuplés were all the rage, something that Inés excelled at like no other, always from the perspective of flamenco orthodoxy and aesthetics."

He nevertheless decided to record solo tracks from Juan Carlos Calderón, Jose Luis Perales, Leon and Solano o Carlos cano under the seal of Disco Moon and to the accompaniment of the extraordinary guitar of Pura's Child.

We will be able to say goodbye to his mortal remains from 13 p.m. on Wednesday, December 10th at the Utrera Funeral Home, awaiting his burial the following day. The funeral mass is on Thursday the 11th at 10 a.m. in the Parish of Santiago el Mayor, Church of the Gypsies, and at 11 a.m. she will be buried in the Municipal Cemetery of Utrera.

Inés has suddenly suffered from a weakness that has gradually diminished her vitality until it has taken her life. And although we know there is no cure, her fond memory will remain forever, a kind of prayer to her. Virgin of Consolation of Utrera We will always repeat the title of her album to remember her: Never leave.

All of us who do ExpoFlamenco We wish you peace and rest in peace.
