El flamenco crossed borders again in the most unexpected way. Will Smith, one of the most recognized artists in Hollywood, has become for a few hours the protagonist of a moment that is already viral: he went up on a tablao flamenco in Marbella and started tapping like any other fan, making it clear that art jondo conquers hearts regardless of nationality.

Jesús Carmona: personality and high-ranking dance

The actor and singer, who is in the middle of his European tour Based on a True Story 2025, made a stop on the Costa del Sol after performing at a festival. But far from the big stages, he sought out the intimacy and magic of a tablao, that space where the flamenco you really live. There, surrounded by palmas and cheers, shared the stage with the dancer Philip of Algeciras and the guitarist Salvador Andrades, who set the pace so that Will dared to feel the duende in his own feet.

The artist shared a video of his improvised performance on social media with a message all his own: "Dance like no one's watching, even when everyone is watching."And that's what he did. He let go, smiled, and scored with his heel and sole, drawing olés and cheers from the crowd. A spontaneous moment that has gone around the world and that many fans have celebrated as a gesture of respect and admiration towards the flamenco.

"As the teacher said Camarón, "The flamenco "It has no owner," and Will Smith has just reminded us: this art is for those who dare to feel it.

This isn't the first time Will Smith has shown his love for Spain and its music. Just a few months ago he presented the song "Spain and its music" alongside India Martinez theme First Love, a fusion of rap and flamenco which already indicated his interest in the compass. And in interviews he has confessed that the flamenco He is fascinated by the passion it transmits: "It is music that comes from the soul," he once said.

Those who witnessed the scene in the tablao agree: Will Smith not only dared, but also brought joy, charisma and desire, those qualities that in flamenco are valued almost as much as technique. Art jondo, an intangible heritage of humanity, found in this meeting a new example of its universal power: to excite and spread beyond cultures and borders.

After this festive evening in Marbella, the actor will continue his tour through France, Monaco, Belgium, and Denmark.

Because, as the teacher said Camarón, "The flamenco “It has no owner,” and Will Smith has just remembered: this art is for those who dare to feel it.
