Teatro Alameda: youth, memory and savagery at the Seville Biennial

It follows Jose from Tomato, presenting his Sonanta 3.0 September 16th; a proposal that draws on tradition to delve into contemporary sonic territories. The artist, who belongs to a fundamental lineage of flamenco (son of Tomatito and nephew of the legendary Niño Miguel), he has inherited his relationship with the guitar like a language. In Sonanta 3.0He embarks on a process of deconstructing his own legacy: revisiting his inherited heritage to question and reconstruct it from a personal perspective, in a constant dialogue between memory and experimentation. The concert begins from the bareest essence of flamenco to gradually expand into new textures and atmospheres, incorporating effects and resonances that broaden the expressive horizon of the guitar, in a journey of transformation where the root and the search for a unique sound coexist naturally.

And this first part of the trip concludes with... Gala of the Andalusian Youth Circle Flamencos, in collaboration with the Andalusian Youth Institute, on September 20th. Created with the aim of promoting, fostering and highlighting artistic initiatives related to flamenco of young people residing in Andalusia between the ages of 14 and 25, and led by the Andalusian Institute of FlamencoThe circuit will select four artistic proposals in the dance categories in its second edition, cante, guitar and other instruments. This gala will showcase the work of the four selected artists.

The Alameda Theatre will kick off the journey through memory on September 22nd with a unique evening that will offer Joselito Acedo and Patio, a proposal that evokes the old tenement courtyards of Triana as spaces for coexistence, creation and transmission of flamencoAccompanied by artists from different generations such as Manolo Marín, Pastora Galván, Rafael Riqueni and José Acedo Sr., the guitarist from Triana proposes an intimate journey to that microcosm where the common language is flamenco'Patio' is a dialogue between generations and aesthetics, in which the memory of the neighborhood is intertwined with a contemporary perspective, opting for an essentialist staging where detail, silence and precise "saying" build a sonic identity that connects past and present.

With a discourse rooted in purity and permeated by his own life experience, Benítez invites the audience to accompany him on this journey toward the essential, in which the invisible takes shape through lament and emotion, revealing the most honest and profound dimension of his cante.

And that concludes this stroll down memory lane. Pastora Galvan with the absolute premiere of Tribusssh! September 26. Heir to one of the most influential dynasties in Sevillian dance—daughter of José Galván and sister of Israel Galván—the artist has built her own language that, rooted in traditional women's dance, is distinguished by its expressive power, its resounding rhythm, and an unmistakable stage presence. With that signature style, Pastora Galván stands as a key figure in the transmission and renewal of dance, so this new premiere points to a proposal where tradition and research converse from artistic maturity, maintaining intact the intensity and character that define his way of inhabiting the stage.

The final part, the authentic side of the celebration, will come from Manuel Cuevas and Miguel de Tena staging his By Vallejo September 28th; a unique evening that pays tribute to the figure of Manuel Vallejo with respect for tradition and the depth of cante classic. Both artists, recognized with the Lámpara Minera (the highest award of the Festival of Cante (of the Mines), represent a way of understanding the flamenco rooted in knowledge and orthodoxy, forged in peñaand competitions. With careers marked by rigor and fidelity to styles, Cuevas and de Tena delve into the master's repertoire to recreate his legacy from a contemporary perspective, in a dialogue that highlights the enduring relevance and emotion of a cante which continues to beat strongly in the present.

And the next unique night will be wild too. Capullo de Jerez and José de los Camarones They will offer the show 'The flamenco'They're not going to the barber' on September 30th.' The night of October 1st will be the closing party at the Alameda Theatre. Juan Parrilla and Bernardo Parrilla, along with Diego Carrasco and Carrete de Málaga, will present 'Inheritance' on a unique night conceived as both celebration and legacy. The show, spearheaded by Juan Parrilla, is a tribute to the family and artistic roots that have shaped his career, from his native Jerez to his connection with great figures of the flamenco and dance. Through a repertoire that captures this memory, with evocations of figures like Moraíto Chico, Enrique de Melchor, and Lola Flores, the Parrilla brothers trace an emotional journey where the flute and violin become vehicles for a living and constantly evolving tradition. The participation of Diego Carrasco and Carrete de Málaga will bring their unmistakable rhythm and captivating personality to the stage, adding both experience and modernity to a closing performance that celebrates, in its purest form, the transmission of art. flamenco. ♦
