The associative fabric of the flamenco debate the proposals for art jondo out of 2026

27 January 2026

This line of collaboration is aimed at Andalusian municipalities with fewer than 100.000 inhabitants that are not provincial capitals, with the objective of promoting the programming of flamenco in established cultural events and strengthen the presence of this art form in the region. The selected projects will be developed jointly between the Andalusian Institute of Flamenco (IAF) and local entities, who will share the definition of the programming.

Applications must be submitted exclusively electronically, through the electronic registry of the Junta de Andalucía, within twenty working days from the day after the publication of the call in the BOJA, that is, until the 21 of April of 2026.

Among the established requirements, municipalities must demonstrate a track record in organizing flamenco activities, have a prominent program in this discipline, and possess the necessary technical and human resources for its development. They must also have a professional cultural manager directly involved in the project, who will act as the liaison with the Agency, and suitable publicly owned venues for holding the activities.

"Municipalities must demonstrate a track record in organizing flamenco activities, have a prominent program in this discipline, and possess the necessary technical and human resources for its development. They must also have a professional cultural manager directly involved in the project."

Proposals must include a descriptive report with a detailed program, schedule, and location, as well as a definition of the target audience and projected attendance. In addition, a communication plan and a detailed budget will be required, including the financial statement of the activity, outlining income and expenses, as well as a breakdown of artist fees.

The evaluation of applications will be carried out by an Evaluation Committee, which will take into account criteria such as the quality and relevance of the programming, the creation of new spaces for the exhibition of flamenco, the economic viability of the project and the incorporation of the gender equality perspective.

The selected initiatives will formalize their participation by signing a collaboration agreement with the Andalusian Agency of Cultural Institutions. The Agency's financial contribution, through the Andalusian Institute of... FlamencoThis will materialize in artistic contracts, with an investment that will range between 2.500 and 6.000 euros per eventwithout exceeding 50 percent of the total budget, which must be greater than 12.000 euros. This framework reinforces the economic sustainability of the projects and promotes greater financial co-responsibility among the participating entities.

Furthermore, the call introduces a simplification in the justification procedures, which will be carried out through a final valuation report accompanied by a declaration of responsibility for the expenses.

This call for proposals falls within the scope of the Andalusian Agency of Cultural Institutions' responsibilities in the areas of research, promotion and dissemination of flamenco, and responds to its objective of consolidating a quality cultural offer in the Andalusian territory, while promoting the professional fabric of the performing arts and music.
