From 14 to 29 November 2025, Girona and other municipalities in the province will host the seventh edition of FlamenGi, the festival flamenco of reference in Catalonia. With a Powerful, diverse and committed programming, the festival will bring art flamenco a Girona, Banyoles, La Bisbal d'Empordà and, for the first time, will cross borders reaching Toulouges (France).
As a major novelty, FlamenGi steps into the monumental public space for the first time, and does so with an unprecedented proposal: Israel Galvan, one of the most international and transgressive figures of the flamenco contemporary, will offer la inaugural performance on the steps of Girona Cathedral, an iconic venue unique for its history and architecture. The performance will take place on November 14th at 19:30 p.m.
This 2025, FlamenGi pays tribute to Paco de Lucía, a key figure in the history of music and architect of the modern revolution of flamencoAn unrepeatable genius, Paco de Lucía not only brought flamenco guitar to the international stage, but also imbued it with an artistic dignity and expressive freedom that marked a before and after.
With a brilliant career as a composer, performer and innovator, broke walls between genders, fusing jazz, classical music or Latin music without ever renouncing the Andalusian roots thanks to his way of understanding the flamenco: free, open and demanding.
For this reason, this edition, in which the collaboration of the Paco de Lucia Foundation and the Addiction Interpretation by Paco de Lucía from Algeciras, will include various events in memory and recognition of his figure:
- Screening of the documentary Paco de Lucía: The search.
- Intimate conversation with his son and director of the documentary, Curro Sanchez, and the dancer Antonio Fernández Montoya, El Farru.
- Commented audition by the journalist and music critic Pere Pons about Paco de Lucía Sextet's album: Live… One Summer Night.
- The presence in the programming of artists who accompanied him throughout his career, such as El Farru, Antonio Serrano o Josemi Carmona.
FlamenGi 2025 not only pays tribute to him as a legend, but also as a guide and inspiration for a new generation of artists and audiences who understand the flamenco as a living culture.

Luxury programming forfor all audiences
In addition to Israel Galván, who will open the festival with a unique performance, the program features established figures and emerging proposals that shape a vision of flamenco open, diverse and constantly evolving:
Israel Galvan, a dancer and choreographer from Seville, is an icon of flamenco contemporary. Internationally recognized for his capacity for innovation and scenic transgression, Galván has broken the mold and has taken the flamenco to the most prestigious circuits of contemporary dance worldwide.
The Farru, one of the great figures of dance flamenco recognized for his stage presence and direct connection to the Farrucos family tradition. At FlamenGi, he will offer a roots show in a festival-specific production featuring local artists. He will also participate in the talk and offer a masterclass.
Patricia guerrero, 2021 National Dance Award winner and current director of the Ballet Flamenco From Andalusia, an artist of great expressiveness and technical solidity, will present a contemporary proposal that combines roots with current stagecraft. She will perform as a guest artist in the show. Become next to the guitarist Alejandro Hurtado, who won the prestigious Bordón Minero award in 2017.
kiki morente, a singer who represents the new generation of flamenco, fusing the legacy of his father, Enrique Morente, with current influences. He will offer an intimate concert of cante and guitar at the Banyoles Auditorium.
Andres Barrios, a pianist from Utrera, stands out for his personal style in which the flamenco He engages in a dialogue with jazz and Latin music. He will present his album in Girona. KM. 0, one of the most suggestive proposals of the new flamenco instrumental.
Adela Campallo, one of the most unique dancers of the flamenco contemporary, arrives in Touluges alongside Joaquín El Duende, Toni Moñiz, José Andrés Cortés and Joni Sánchez. A meeting born from the bridge between Girona, Barcelona and France, where the flamenco It is shared as a living and current art.
Antonio Serrano and Josemi Carmona, two internationally renowned figures with direct ties to Paco de Lucía. Serrano, a master of the chromatic harmonica, was part of his sextet for over a decade. Carmona, a former member of Ketama and son of Pepe Habichuela, represents modern fusion deeply rooted in tradition. They will join forces in a special concert with the pianist. Ignasi Terraza as a special guest.
First step towards the internationalization
The festival maintains its commitment to decentralizing culture, with activities and concerts that will take place in Girona city (including venues such as the Auditorium of La Mercè, the Josep Irla Auditorium, the Sunset Jazz Club and La Marfà) and neighborhoods such as Santa Eugènia and Pont Major, Banyoles, La Bisbal d'Empordà y Toulouges (France).
The seventh edition of FlamenGi takes the international leap and, for the first time, crosses the border to bring the flamenco in Northern Catalonia, Toulouges. This milestone not only consolidates the festival as a cultural landmark in the Girona region, but also extends it to the European scene. With this expansion, FlamenGi reaffirms its mission to be a festival plural, accessible and open, capable of generating dialogues and alliances beyond the territory, which reinforces that natural connection and the will to build cultural bridges. Opening up to France also means approaching our shared memory and establishing links between communities, bringing the essence of flamenco to new audiences and territories.
In addition to concerts, FlamenGi offers master classes of the different disciplines of flamenco, live podcasts, a documentary screening, talks and lectures, a traditional communal meal with live rumba, and special programming in different Girona neighborhoods.
