The associative fabric of the flamenco debate the proposals for art jondo out of 2026

The Secretary General for Cultural Innovation and Museums, Jose Angel Velez, has held a working meeting with the main representatives of the associative fabric of flamenco to analyze and publicize the proposals of the Ministry of Culture and Sports (Andalusian Regional Government) for this year, initiatives which, as Vélez pointed out, “confirm the Andalusian Government’s commitment to the peña"They are the true guardians of Andalusian heritage." At the annual meeting, held at the headquarters of the Chair of Flamenco from Pablo de Olavide University, have participated both the Andalusian Confederation of Peñas Flamencos such as the provincial federations.

El flamenco, an educational tool and a source of employment and wealth for Andalusia

During the meeting, the main lines of work planned for this year were outlined, including the development of Andalusian Circuit of Peñas and updating the Artist Catalog Flamencos who will participate in this edition, the call for which was published on January 23. Another issue addressed was the organization of a new edition of the event between entities. Andalusian Youth Circuit Flamencos, a strategic project driven in collaboration with the Andalusian Youth Institute and the provincial federations, whose call will be published soon in the BOJA.

Likewise, collaboration agreements and aid directed to the associative fabric have been analyzed, in order to strengthen the cultural activities that they peñaThey are being developed throughout the autonomous community. These and other issues were the focus of the First Forum on Future Strategies for PeñaFlamencos of Andalusia held in Algeciras last November and considered a starting point to consolidate new lines of cooperation between the administration and the associative movement.

Collaboration with the associative fabric is essential to guarantee the transmission of flamenco in all its forms and to encourage the creation of new audiences, as outlined in the Law of the Flamenco, which recognizes the peñaas essential non-profit cultural entities for the promotion and preservation of flamenco in its various manifestations.

Vélez was accompanied by the director of the Andalusian Institute of Flamenco, Christopher Ortega, the director of the Chair of Flamenco, Norberto Díaz, as well as by the president of the Andalusian Confederation of Peñas Flamencos, Concha Prieto, and spokespeople from the provincial federations of Cádiz, Córdoba, Huelva, Jaén, Málaga and Sevilla.
