The title of this work can have many meanings. It could be understood as a vital commitment to flamenco tradition and fidelity to it, but also, as is the case, to the unbreakable personal and artistic union of its protagonists. José and Manuel, despite their youth, have already been sharing roads and stages for many years. (Cover photograph by Claudia Ruiz)
The time has come, in 2026, to showcase his interpretive credentials with the creation of a record project that clearly reflects a personal and identity-based concept of cante and the Jerez touch. On the one hand, José Montoya Carpio 'Berenjeno' He defends the legacy of his family of flamenco singers, a family that is synonymous with the Plazuela. On the other hand, there is the elegant guitar of Manuel Herediawho also handled production duties. The album is a joint effort by the two artists and achieves a great balance between respect for tradition and concepts relevant to our times.
Here is a true example of the result in the form of Taranto – in the cuts it says 'taranta'- and cartagenera, cantiñas, siguiriyas and bulerías. The repertoire is signed by Rafael Lorente and Manuel Carabante (in 'The Spell of flamenco') and features, among others, Alex Fernández and Juan José Villar. It was recorded at Studios Léon in El Puerto de Santa María and was released in 2026.
