On February 28th, the González Byass Winery of Los Apóstoles hosted the performance "Quiero cantArte" by Jesús Méndez. As a sound chronicle, I've selected some of the pieces. cantes from the repertoire integrated into the recital.
As the synopsis of the same says, 'without forgetting their roots, their cantes of always, the matrix styles, Jesús Méndez wants to dedicate part of his repertoire to covers classical and contemporary masters, musically betting on registers that are less known to him.
Accompanied by Pepe el Morao on guitar; palmas and rhythm by Carlos Grilo, Diego Montoya, and Manuel Salado; percussion by Paquito González; and piano by Borja Évora. We hear, in this order, malagueñas, soleá, and tangos. Direct sound from the 29th Festival de Jerez.
