The cantes for mining are the ones who most identify with the flamenco from the city of La Unión. This circumstance, more than to a genuinely Unionense origin, or to other difficult to prove assumptions that are sometimes found in Flemish literature, is due, in our opinion, to the fact that the Festival of Cante of the Mines I would consider it the most important of the cantes that were executed there, since its first editions.
