María Terremoto, Corbacho and De la Molía, at the 55th Festival Flamenco from Moguer

A new edition of the veteran competition is coming flamenco of Moguer, which will pay tribute to the amateur Joaquín Pipón and will feature an outstanding selection of artists from the cante, dance and touch.

mogur (Huelva) will once again become flamenco with the celebration of 5th Festival of Cante Flamenco, one of the most established events on the Andalusian scene. The event will take place, as is tradition, at the Booth of the Peña de Cante Jondo located in the fairgrounds The Parral, starting at 22:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2025.

In this edition, the poster is headed by the Jerez native Maria Terremoto, one of the most recognized young voices of the cante current, and Jesus Corbacho, a singer from Huelva with extensive experience and knowledge. They will perform alongside Mari Angeles Cruzado, the dancer Juan Thomas de la Molia and the guitarist Alvaro Mora, a young figure of the toque who is consolidating himself as one of the emerging names with the greatest projection.

The festival, organized by the Peña de Cante Jondo from Moguer With the support of the Huelva Provincial Council and the local City Council, it will once again bring together fans from all over the province and visitors who come to this town every year to enjoy the flamenco most authentic. The event will be presented by the flamencologist Ramón Arroyo, a well-known and respected voice in the field of flamenco dissemination.

One of the most emotional moments of the night will be the tribute to Joaquín Pipón, historical fan of cante and former collaborating partner of the peña, who dedicated part of his life to supporting and preserving the flamenco in Moguer. The organization wanted to recognize his passion and commitment with this posthumous award.

 

«With half a century of history, the Festival of Cante Flamenco Moguer remains faithful to its essence: bringing together established artists and promising newcomers in a single night, paying tribute to those who sustain art through their passion, and offering an intimate and close experience.

 

Tickets, priced at €15, are now available through www.momotickets.com and can also be purchased at the box office on the day of the festival, pending full capacity.

As usual, the competition also features a parallel artistic offering. This year's poster is the work of the Moguer-born painter Pedro Rodriguez, and will be presented on Friday, June 20th at 20:30 p.m. in the Cloister of the Convent of San Francisco. The event, with free admission, will include a performance by the flamenco singer Peter the Granain accompanied on guitar by Antonio de Patrocinio Son, in a preview of the atmosphere jondo that will take place in July.

The Peña de Cante Jondo, your president Ramon Ruiz He wanted to highlight the involvement of the institutions, as well as the constant support of members and fans: "The support of everyone is what allows this festival to remain alive more than half a century later. It is a collective commitment to the flamenco and with our land."

For their part, both the Provincial Council and the City Council have reaffirmed their commitment to an event that "enhances the name of Moguer and the province of Huelva," in the words of the Deputy for Culture, Grace BaqueroThe mayor of Moguer, Gustavo Cuellar, has stressed that "the flamenco It unites us and forces us to continue working to maintain this Andalusian cultural reference year after year."

With half a century of history, the Festival of Cante Flamenco de Moguer remains faithful to its essence: bringing together established artists and new promises in one night, paying tribute to those who sustain art through their passion and offering an intimate and close experience, where the cante, the touch and the dance are once again felt in rhythm, under the July sky.
