And from the land of verse came Mari Ángeles and Francis. Two friends who met as children at the Moguer drum school, and who today are flamencos recognized from a land that with its simple name conveys good cante and good fans.

Mari Angeles Cruzado She is a singer with innate potential. Far from boasting about it, she has been strengthening it with tenacity and continuous training since she was a child. At this point, leaving aside subjectivity and preferences, I have no hesitation in recognizing her as a true singer. Francisco Gómez Cruzado –Francis Gomez– is a latent reality, a flamenco without complexes. An essential accompaniment guitar. A musician who, as I have already expressed on several occasions, turns the music in flamenco y flamenco in high-quality musicThrough the pores of his guitar, we see that he is passionate about his work, especially in composing and creating arrangements, with versatility being one of his most pronounced characteristics.

Where did they go? cantes / of rockrose and threshing. / Others came cantes / are no longer in style. This is how he told us with his powerful voice the first of his interpretations. cante of the threshing floor, carried in just the right rhythm. No shrillness. Perfect bass and melodies, warning that he wasn't going to take the stage to leave anything out. Then, the Canario's malagueña gives way to jabegote and several lyrics of abandolao. And for a moment masticated that the one singing through the reed was Francis Gómez's guitar. What an opening melody! What a rhythm and what a beat! At that moment I was transported, excuse the awkward simile. flamenco, in those football midfielders who constantly deliver balls to their forwards. Of course, the opportunity was not wasted, and remembering the Adujareño maestro Rafael Romero The Hen reminded us of that letter of a serve God and the king….

«The Moguereña delved into the mirabrás and the cantiñas, sailing to end up in the air of Huelva. The land calls you: What a pain for my land / Long live Huelva, long live Huelva / What a pain for my land. / Never was a tree better / than in the land where it grows. / Long live Huelva and its fandangos»

He left Andújar for the poetry of Moreno Galvan in the execution of the Marianas, finishing them with tangos, where he gave us a fan from Extremadura to Granada. Immediately after, for me the best part of the afternoon, the cante by siguiriyas. He had no mercy. Mari Ángeles searched deep inside herself and fought bravely in the tercios of Thomas the Nitri and the sighs of the Marrurro. Not content with that wanted to open the earth, bringing Silverio's integrity to his voice and expressive manner. What more could you ask of someone who gives his all at a time when there's no need to hide and say: here are my credentials.

The Moguereña had emptied herself, she had grieved, but she didn't want to leave without leaving us with a little salty taste. She entered the mirabrás and the cantiñas, sailing to end up in the air of Huelva. The land calls you: What a pain for my land / Long live Huelva, long live Huelva / What a pain for my land. / Never was a tree better / than in the land where it grows. / Long live Huelva and its fandangos. Without a microphone and on stage, he gave us his courage in the cantes of Rengel y Pepe Sanz, to change to the bravery and courage of Alosno. He concluded by remembering his fellow countryman. Pepe Rebollo: He has the greatest treasure / to'aquel who lives his mare ….

The greatest treasure of a land is its people. And when they leave, they are ambassadors of their culture, in this case through music and more specifically through flamencoThat treasure grows richer. In Mari Ángeles and Francis, in Francis and Mari Ángeles, that wealth has been built and will continue to be built not only through effort and work, but also through knowledge and love for what they do. And I, why not say it, am proud of it and of telling the world about it.

Huelva, 1974. I was born in Flamenco at a table of cabales of the Peña Flamenca from Huelva. Since then, this art has been my oxygen. When I express myself, I do so from the heart and looking at the people, as if I were singing for Huelva.
