Mayte Martín: the supreme delicacy of mastery

March 2, 2026

The voice of the flamenco singer Argentina is today a territory where memory and tomorrow join hands without harming one another. In the heart of this glorious present, the artist from Huelva presents the music video for Guilty, a piece that is not just music, but an exhumation of Utrera's mystique. In this flamenco rumba with a vintage flavor, pregnant with the electric aesthetic of the seventies and eighties, Argentina pauses before the mirror of Bambino to collect its heritage and transmute it into a burst of positive energy and contemporary truth. Under the LP label Flamenco and with the artistic direction of Luis Miguel Baeza RomeroThis audiovisual work captures the essence of a project recorded without any tricks or gimmicks, in a single day in May that is already part of the small history of the genre.

This premiere serves as a prelude to an imminent event: Argentina kicks off its national tour this very weekend, and it does so under the banner of absolute excellence. The sold-out sign already hangs at the Enrique de la Cuadra Theater in Utrera for its premiere on February 7th, confirming that the public can perfectly distinguish where truth lies and where artifice resides. It is a moment of plenitude that is frightening in its lucidity. Recently, the editorial staff of ExpoFlamenco has included his work A trip through cante among the twenty-five best albums of flamenco of the 21st century, an act of poetic justice that recognizes an artist who understands art jondo as a living organism. This milestone is further enhanced by the prestigious Best Artist Award. Flamenco 2025 awarded by the AREA Association, an award that certifies its reign in the current scene.

"Recently, the editorial staff of ExpoFlamenco has included his work 'A Journey Through the cante'among the twenty-five best albums of flamenco of the 21st century, an act of poetic justice that recognizes an artist who understands art jondo like a living organism"

Following this triumphant start in Utrera, the singer's success will extend to the great temples of national culture. The performer will bring her light to Seville on February 13th and 14th, alongside the Royal Seville Symphony Orchestra at the Fibes Auditorium, continuing its trail on March 14th in the Villamarta Theatre in Jerez, on March 27th in the Palau de les Arts in Valencia and on May 8th in the Soho Theater in Malagawith confirmed stops in Extremadura before culminating their journey in Madrid. As the journalist has pointed out Juan Vergillos, in his throat the cante Classic is a newborn, and it is that capacity for regeneration that gives its metal an enviable freshness in each of its live performances.

The project Utrera flamenco awesome, from which this new video clip originates, was born from an epiphany in honor of the mythical The Spoon and was recorded entirely live at the Fetén Cultural Space in Utrera. In the audiovisual piece of GuiltyThe song breathes thanks to the pulse of the guitars of Pitín Hijo y Javier Ibanez, teachers from the Utrera school, who walk enveloped by the rhythm of Gaspar del Cuchara, José de Pitín, Jorge Bautista y Juan de Orucoadding the precise bongo of Pedro Saavedra CortésIn every lament and every measure of this work, recorded with raw emotion, Argentina demonstrates once again that canteWhen done with respect for elders and with truth as the guiding principle, it is the only way for human beings to speak with eternity.
