La Association of Designers and Entrepreneurs of Flamenco Fashion and Crafts, Qlamenco, has once again championed the identity of Triana through flamenco fashion with a new edition of the already emblematic Santanitas, who have toured the streets of Triana coinciding with the opening day of the Saint Anne's Vigil.

The performance began with a photo shoot at the Triana Ceramics Center, from where the models began a tour of the Altozano and Betis Street, one of the most emblematic locations of the Velá de Santa Ana.

In this edition, 18 designers have reinterpreted the iconic dress created by Qlamenco in 2021. The following designers participated: Agus Dorado, Amalia Vergara, Ángeles Copete, Ángeles Isa, Atelier Rima, Carmen Latorre, Carmen Serrano, De Lunares y Volantes, Eli Martín, Inma Castrejón, Inmaculada González, Manuel Odriozola, Mari Carmen Sáez, María Amador, Merche Caparrós, Nuria Chaparro, Reyes Vázquez and Sonibel, with additions by Juan Foronda.

As the main novelty of this edition, the artistic direction of Qlamenco presented the comb Triana between twoThe dress, crafted from Havana fabric and personalized with a bow inspired by prints representative of Triana's popular traditions, was completed with lilies in the hair, a symbol of the Virgin Mary and Saint Anne, accompanied by natural flowers reminiscent of Triana's courtyards.

The earrings, mostly designed by Qlamenco's artistic direction, completed the look with a reinterpretation of popular jewelry with cameos, pearls, coral and crystal, inspired by the popular traditions of Triana.

Pedro GonzalezQlamenco's artistic director explained that "La Santanita continues to evolve without losing its essence. Each year we incorporate new elements that enrich its identity. This year we wanted to draw inspiration from the history and popular traditions of Triana to design the 'Triana entredós' hair comb and the rest of the accessories, maintaining the essence of the dress and providing a new creative perspective."

"Since its creation, the Santanita has become one of the most representative images of the Velá de Santa Ana, becoming a tribute to the history, craftsmanship and traditions of the Triana neighborhood."

The origin of the 'Santanita'

The official dress of 'La Santanita', a pioneering initiative of Qlamenco, was created in July 2021 by the association's designers, under the artistic direction of Pedro González, and made by Francisco Tamaral and Yolanda Rivas, with embroidery of Juan Foronda.

The design, of an exclusive nature, is protected and registered by the Industrial Property Department of the Innovation and Development Agency of Andalusia (IDEA), which guarantees the protection of this symbol of the Velá de Santa Ana and the creativity of its authors.

Since its creation, the Santanita has become one of the most representative images of the Velá de Santa Ana, becoming a tribute to the history, craftsmanship and traditions of the Triana neighborhood.

This edition of Santanita 2026 has been made possible through the collaboration of the Doble Erre Fashion and Communication Agency, Ana Camero, Alfonso Dequin, Blanco Azahar, Hotel Restaurante 7, and the Triana Ceramics Center (ICAS-Seville City Council). ♦
