The bet on Thursday the 30th aimed high, no less than the brand new Lámpara Minera 2025, Gregory Moya, accompanied by the brilliant guitar of Paco Cortés.

This flamenco singer, from Argamasilla de Alba in La Mancha, possesses remarkable talent: a firm voice, piercing in the high notes and magnificent in the low, with impeccable pitch. But, in addition, his timbre bears a striking resemblance to the voice of the dearly missed Enrique Morente, something we were able to confirm when he released his album. Nobody sleeps with the stamp The Music DrugstoreWe don't know if it was this timbral coincidence that made Gregorio Moya feel attracted to the [musical instrument] from a very young age. cante of the Ronco from AlbaicínBut the truth is that today he is one of the great connoisseurs of his work and his flamenco singing aesthetic, and he carries it as his banner with reverential respect in all his performances.

With a full house – I would venture to say that the majority of attendees were admirers of Morente, attracted by the seriousness and rigor with which this singer approaches the Morente legacy – the recital began.

The man from La Mancha broke the ice with the women from Malaga. the trinity with fandangos of Peppermint Bottle which served as the musical skeleton for the version of El Niño Yuntero de Miguel Hernández, which Enrique recorded in 1973, being the first to adapt the poetry collection of the poet from Orihuela to music, in this case flamenco, with the courage to do so while the dictator Franco was still alive.

With the thought in Federico Garcia Lorca, interpreted the tientos The legend of Time And in the soleá, with the divine falsetas of Paco Cortés, who was excellent in his accompaniment, and with his voice that had gone in crescendo In their nuances and in their transmission, they provoked enthusiastic cheers from the audience.

The fandangos from Huelva may have lacked a bit of drive, but with the petenera that followed, a cante which, unfortunately, we don't usually hear, the man from La Mancha grew stronger again.

The delightful tangos of The Language of Flowers They were intended to be the grand finale of the recital, but the audience wouldn't allow it; they wanted more. Not one, but two. canteFurthermore, Gregorio Moya had to do more to please the respectable: the well-known tangos The star and some fandangos from El Gloria that brought the audience to their feet, grateful to have experienced a night in which it became clear how an artist, with seriousness and respect, can put on a recital based on the work of a legend like Morente.
