It is my own acceptance.” The artist explains that this work is the culmination of several years dedicated to building an identity from which to dance fully, even while facing social criticism and judgment. From this honesty, the performance unfolds as a dance recital, a celebration of who he is.
Through a selection of pieces that reflect his evolving identity, Manuel Liñán invites the audience to connect with his story through emotion and movement. Far from crafting a complex discourse, the artist opts for clarity and celebration: “I create this show simply out of a need to dance and celebrate through dance, the result of this joyful quest, which revolves around identity, dance, movement, the established order, roles, contradictions…”. The Concienciarte Foundation, Flamenco The Festival and the Torrox City Council, with the support of INAEM (Ministry of Culture), have launched the call for applications for the 4th edition of the In Progress residency and creative laboratory program, already established as a benchmark in promoting new creative languages and processes within the flamenco, bringing together established and emerging artists in an environment conducive to reflection and creation.
Creators will be able to submit their proposals until April 1, 2026 through this link A committee of industry professionals will make the selection, evaluating the quality and originality of the proposal, its theme and alignment with the purpose of the In Progress program, and ensuring that the project has a creative team in addition to the performers to guarantee it reaches its full potential.
