The celebration of the Silverio Franconetti International Awards takes on a particularly significant dimension for the city this year, coinciding with Granada's definitive push as a finalist in the process to become European Capital of Culture 2031. The flamencoDeclared an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, it constitutes one of the great pillars of Granada's cultural proposal and one of the differentiating elements with which the city aspires to reinforce its European and international projection.
Catalina also emphasized that “the celebration of the Silverio Franconetti International Awards strengthens Granada’s position as an international cultural benchmark and contributes to boosting Granada’s candidacy for European Capital of Culture 2031 from one of its main cultural assets: the flamenco".
Among the most prominent names in this edition are the flamenco dancer from Granada. Eva Yerbabuena, recognized with the International Dance Award Flamenco; the guitarist Vicente Friend, distinguished with the International Flamenco Guitar Award; the flamenco singer Diego Clavel, awarded in the category of Cante Flamencoand the legendary White of the King, who receives the Lifetime Achievement Award.

The jury also wished to pay tribute to one of the most important figures in the history of flamenco awarding the International Prize of Flamenco PIF 2026 In Memoriam to the teacher Enrique Morente, one of the artists who contributed most to the renewal and universalization of flamenco contemporary from Granada.
