In the words of the Angie Moreno, Delegate for Tourism and Culture of the Seville City Council“The Alameda Theatre is once again pulsating as one of the most vibrant spaces of the Biennial, a place where the flamenco It encounters itself from very diverse perspectives: the youthful drive, the memory that sustains us, and that free and authentic celebration that is part of our identity. This program reflects the city's commitment to an art that never stops evolving, that engages with new generations without losing its roots, and that makes Seville a leading cultural center.”

In turn, the Director of the Biennial, Luis YbarraHe described the theater's programming as "a breath of fresh air for late nights, a meeting point for audiences and artists, thanks to its location and the atmosphere it exudes." Referring to the offerings, he added, "We propose a journey for theatergoers divided into three phases. The idea isn't for them to analyze these three sections, or even consciously differentiate between them, but rather that by attending regularly, they feel that something is happening. That everything has a beginning and an end. A development that is more perceptive than narrative."

In this sense, he explained, “the first of these blocks is the dazzling, youth: canteDance and guitar performances by three young but already established artists: Ángeles Toledano in a unique evening, Macarena López in her debut, and José del Tomate. To close this phase, we will enjoy a gala featuring the winners of the Andalusian Youth Circuit. FlamencoIt is directed by Arcángel so that those who are starting out can have an experience with the professional.”

The second stage of this journey, he continued, “goes through memory: Joselito Acedo as master of ceremonies of a Triana that is being lost and another that is arriving, together with Rafael Riqueni, José Acedo Sr., Pastora Galván, Manolo Marín, José Lérida, Ismael de la Rosa 'El Bola'… Following him, Ezequiel Benítez with Jerez essences, Pastora Galván in a premiere alongside the drums to commemorate the rock that entered the peninsula in the 70s from its racial way of understanding dance and, finally, Manuel Cuevas and Miguel de Tena performing a repertoire, exclusively, of Manuel Vallejo in the centenary of his Golden Key.”

And, to conclude, “the end of the journey is geared towards the wild, the genuine spirit of the festival, the carefree. After several weeks of the Biennial, we will enjoy Capullo de Jerez alongside José de los Camarones in The flamencoThey don't go to the barbershop"As well as the instrumental music ceremony by the Parrilla family, along with Diego Carrasco and the great Carrete de Málaga. More than a century later, the Alameda continues to be a space for encounters," he concluded.

The first to take the stage at the Alameda Theatre will be Angeles Toledano, which will premiere on its stages on September 12 The same blood of the bodyThe artist from Jaén has established herself as one of the most unique voices on the current scene thanks to a cante Starting from its most orthodox roots, it opens itself to a contemporary and profoundly personal sensibility. With a style that combines traditional depth with original lyrics and a fresh perspective on femininity, Toledano proposes a sonic universe where emotion, risk, and truth coexist, foreshadowing a show that will delve into that artistic identity that connects the heritage of flamenco with new forms of expression.

In this first part of the journey, the one dedicated to youth, he also embarks with his dance Macarena López It will premiere on September 14th. Above all else, where the artist poses an intimate and theatrical challenge: what happens when the body ceases to be the sole support? From there, she articulates a piece in which voice, movement, silence, and presence coexist to shape a journey that travels between the everyday and the sacred, addressing issues such as identity, spirituality, and memory with irony and tenderness. With original texts, popular music, and a strong performative pulse, Above all else It is presented as an act of affirmation and a ritual of liberation in which a woman takes the floor to name that which for a long time remained silent.

"The biennial of Flamenco of Sevilla It once again transforms the Alameda Theatre into one of its most vibrant epicenters with a program of nine shows that, among the canteThe music and the dance invite the audience on a sensory and emotional journey. It follows Jose from Tomato, presenting his Sonanta 3.0 September 16th; a proposal that draws on tradition to delve into contemporary sonic territories. The artist, who belongs to a fundamental lineage of flamenco (son of Tomatito and nephew of the legendary Niño Miguel), he has inherited his relationship with the guitar like a language. In Sonanta 3.0He embarks on a process of deconstructing his own legacy: revisiting his inherited heritage to question and reconstruct it from a personal perspective, in a constant dialogue between memory and experimentation. The concert begins from the bareest essence of flamenco to gradually expand into new textures and atmospheres, incorporating effects and resonances that broaden the expressive horizon of the guitar, in a journey of transformation where the root and the search for a unique sound coexist naturally.

And this first part of the trip concludes with... Gala of the Andalusian Youth Circle Flamencos, in collaboration with the Andalusian Youth Institute, on September 20th. Created with the aim of promoting, fostering and highlighting artistic initiatives related to flamenco of young people residing in Andalusia between the ages of 14 and 25, and led by the Andalusian Institute of FlamencoThe circuit will select four artistic proposals in the dance categories in its second edition, cante, guitar and other instruments. This gala will showcase the work of the four selected artists.

The Alameda Theatre will kick off the journey through memory on September 22nd with a unique evening that will offer Joselito Acedo and Patio, a proposal that evokes the old tenement courtyards of Triana as spaces for coexistence, creation and transmission of flamencoAccompanied by artists from different generations such as Manolo Marín, Pastora Galván, Rafael Riqueni and José Acedo Sr., the guitarist from Triana proposes an intimate journey to that microcosm where the common language is flamenco'Patio' is a dialogue between generations and aesthetics, in which the memory of the neighborhood is intertwined with a contemporary perspective, opting for an essentialist staging where detail, silence and precise "saying" build a sonic identity that connects past and present.

In this section of the journey we also find Ezekiel Benitez, which will present What nobody sees On September 24th, the Jerez-born flamenco singer will present his seventh album, in which he delves into hidden emotions and everything that remains out of the spotlight, but which gives meaning to the music. canteConceived as a tribute to silences and unspoken truths, the show traces an intimate journey in which each theme functions as a mirror of the soul, where the flamenco It becomes a vehicle for expressing the invisible struggle, the sacrifice, and the profound love that sustain artistic creation. With a discourse rooted in purity and permeated by his own life experience, Benítez invites the audience to accompany him on this journey toward the essential, in which the invisible takes shape through lament and emotion, revealing the most honest and profound dimension of his cante.

And that concludes this stroll down memory lane. Pastora Galvan with the absolute premiere of Tribusssh! September 26. Heir to one of the most influential dynasties in Sevillian dance—daughter of José Galván and sister of Israel Galván—the artist has built her own language that, rooted in traditional women's dance, is distinguished by its expressive power, its resounding rhythm, and an unmistakable stage presence. With that signature style, Pastora Galván stands as a key figure in the transmission and renewal of dance, so this new premiere points to a proposal where tradition and research converse from artistic maturity, maintaining intact the intensity and character that define his way of inhabiting the stage.

The final part, the authentic side of the celebration, will come from Manuel Cuevas and Miguel de Tena staging his By Vallejo September 28th; a unique evening that pays tribute to the figure of Manuel Vallejo with respect for tradition and the depth of cante classic. Both artists, recognized with the Lámpara Minera (the highest award of the Festival of Cante (of the Mines), represent a way of understanding the flamenco rooted in knowledge and orthodoxy, forged in peñaand competitions. With careers marked by rigor and fidelity to styles, Cuevas and de Tena delve into the master's repertoire to recreate his legacy from a contemporary perspective, in a dialogue that highlights the enduring relevance and emotion of a cante which continues to beat strongly in the present.

And the next unique night will be wild too. Capullo de Jerez and José de los Camarones They will offer the show 'The flamenco'They're not going to the barber' on September 30th.' A declaration of freedom in which long hair becomes a symbol of a cante Uncut, direct, and without artifice. Two unique figures of cante Two artists from Jerez, forged in a golden age marked by the intensity of the night and life experience, meet on stage to engage in dialogue through risk, improvisation, and authenticity. Amidst calls and responses that move through martinetes, fandangos, and soleá, both artists construct a "crossfire" charged with tension, complicity, and the present moment, in which the truth of cante He asserts himself with character and energy.

The night of October 1st will be the closing party at the Alameda Theatre. Juan Parrilla and Bernardo Parrilla, along with Diego Carrasco and Carrete de Málaga, will present 'Inheritance' on a unique night conceived as both celebration and legacy. The show, spearheaded by Juan Parrilla, is a tribute to the family and artistic roots that have shaped his career, from his native Jerez to his connection with great figures of the flamenco and dance. Through a repertoire that captures this memory, with evocations of figures like Moraíto Chico, Enrique de Melchor, and Lola Flores, the Parrilla brothers trace an emotional journey where the flute and violin become vehicles for a living and constantly evolving tradition. The participation of Diego Carrasco and Carrete de Málaga will bring their unmistakable rhythm and captivating personality to the stage, adding both experience and modernity to a closing performance that celebrates, in its purest form, the transmission of art. flamenco. ♦
