The cycle Lorca and Granada in the Generalife Gardens, run by the Ministry of Culture and Sport and managed by the Andalusian Agency of Cultural Institutions, has sold more than 15.700 tickets, half of the total, a month before its start. The program, now in its 24th year, has made 27.900 tickets available for 18 performances.
The choreographer and dancer from Granada Manuel Linan, National Dance Award winner, will stage his particular flamenco version of Lorca's symbolism with his work Call me Lorca between August 1st and 16th. For its part, it will be another National Award, this time for Music, Miguel Poveda, who will take the path marked by the Granada writer to the Alhambra stage from August 21 to 23 with his show There were a thousand Federicos.
Granada-born choreographer and dancer Manuel Liñán, winner of the National Dance Prize, will present his unique flamenco version of Lorca's symbolism with his work "Call Me Lorca" from August 1 to 16.
To celebrate the 600th anniversary of the arrival of the Roma people to Spain, on August 28th the flamenco singers will take to the stage at the Generalife Aurora Vargas, Lole Montoya y Lela Soto in the proposal SingersThe next day, the event will feature El Pele, Farruquito y Diego del Moraowith the show Ballads, which combines the essences of Córdoba, Seville and Jerez through the cante, of dance and guitar playing. As the icing on the cake, the Jerez-born singer Jose Merce will close the cycle on August 30 with a recital in which he will pay tribute to his fellow countryman, the composer Manuel Alejandro, covering some of their most iconic songs.
More than half of the tickets on sale have been sold since they went on sale on May 27. Of these, 10.543 belong to groups organized by various organizations, mainly from the provinces of Granada, Málaga, Jaén, and Almería, and even from Seville and Murcia. The remaining 5.207 were purchased in advance, and will be available to the public until the day before each show.
