The glory of Lo Ferro at stake

The 45th edition of the International Festival of Cante Flamenco de Lo Ferro comes to an end with the dispute of the final of its Competition Cante, which takes place on the evening of Saturday, July 26.

The third edition of 45 International Festival of Cante Flamenco from Lo Ferro comes to an end with the dispute of the final of its Contest Cante, which will be held on the evening of Saturday, July 26, 2025, starting at 22 p.m.

After passing the qualifying rounds and the semifinals, five men and women will take to the Ferro stage to fight for glory at the Lo Ferro Festival.

The throphy Golden Melon to the most complete singer, endowed with the sum of €12.000, donated by Melones el Abuelo, the trophy Lo Ferro Mill, endowed with €5.000, to the best sung ferreña and the first prizes in the different groups of cante They await, hovering around the dreams of the finalists.

That night will be the turn of their voices, their desire, their excitement, and their ability to steady their nerves to face the jury and the audience that will fill the Ferrero summer venue.

After the final, and during the jury's deliberation, it will be the turn of the Ballet Flamenco from Lo Ferro, which this year offers the work The dance flamenco has a woman's name: Cristina Hoyos.

Directed by Mª Dolores Ros y Cynthia Cano, with the dramaturgy of Paz Martinez, the cante de Rocío Martínez y Paquito Sánchez, the flamenco guitars of Juan Antonio Mateos y Faustino Fernandez, the flute of Oscar de Manuel and the dance group formed by Blanca Herreros, Paloma Martínez, Candela Molina, Cynthia Cano, Andrea Gálvez, Adriana Vivancos, Patricia Enrique, Marina Hernández, Sonia García, Martina Gómez, Alba, Rocío, Antonio Muñoz, Fran Serrano and Domingo Muñoz, will give a heartfelt tribute to the teacher of teachers.

His entry and experiences in the company of Antonio gades, the film trilogy starring the teacher –Blood Wedding, Carmen y The witch love–, his time at the Ballet Flamenco of Andalusia and his illness or the creation of his museum in Seville will be spaces and moments that will be explored by the Ballet Flamenco from Lo Ferro.

Cultural agenda

During the cultural agenda activity on Saturday, July 26, we will experience a historic moment at the Sebastián Escudero Theater in Lo Ferro at 12 noon with the Meeting with legends of the flamenco, in which teachers will participate Antonio Fernandez Diaz Phosphorite and Cristina Hoyos.

The event, directed by the Culture and Press Coordinator of the International Festival of Cante Flamenco de Lo Ferro, Gabriel Maldonado, will serve to honor both figures and develop a talk in which they will tell us about their experiences and thousands of special moments on the riverbank. flamenco.

La Plaza del Flamenco from Lo Ferro will beat deeply again from 21 p.m. with the flamenco flashmob organized by Carmen María Villaescusa, from the Kimbara Ballet.
