The Ministry of Culture and Sport of the Andalusian Government, through the Andalusian Agency of Cultural Institutions, commemorates during the month of November the 15th Anniversary of the inclusion of the Flamenco on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCOTo this end, it has designed a special program that will position Huelva as one of the main references for research and teaching related to art. jondo.

Thus, the capital of Huelva hosts from November 11 to 13 the III International Congress on Education and FlamencoOrganized by the Andalusian Institute of Flamenco in collaboration with the University of Huelva and the peñaflamenco shows in the city. This event will bring together teachers, researchers, artists, and industry professionals with the aim of promoting research, the exchange of experiences, and pedagogical innovation around the flamenco as an educational and cultural tool.

The congress opens on November 11 with the presentation of the Awards Flamenco in the classroom at the Gran Teatro de Huelva, awards that recognize the best initiatives for the integration of flamenco in the Andalusian education system. That same day, the official opening ceremony will take place at the University of Huelva's School of Engineering, followed by an inaugural discussion that will mark the beginning of the reflection and debate sessions. The day will conclude with a cohesive activity, the "trasnoches," conceived as an informal meeting place for participants.

November 12th will be entirely dedicated to the development of academic sessions and practical workshops, both in the morning and afternoon, which will address the relationship between flamenco, education and new teaching methodologies. The closing ceremony will be held on the last day, which will include a performance by Manuel Herrera within the program Artists on the road, developed thanks to the agreement between the Andalusian Institute of Flamenco and the Association of Performers and Performers (AIE).

In this way, the congress reinforces the commitment of the Andalusian Government to education in cultural and heritage values, and positions the flamenco as a pedagogical tool and vehicle of Andalusian identity.

Also, on November 16, coinciding with the celebration of the International Day of Flamenco, the Provincial Museum of Huelva hosts the cycle Flamenco Exposed, which proposes a dialogue between the flamenco and the visual arts. On this occasion, the dancer Gero Domínguez will perform a dance piece created specifically for this exhibition space. The performance will be at 12:00 p.m., with free admission until capacity is reached.

"With this program, Huelva joins the more than 170 activities planned throughout Andalusia to commemorate the 15th anniversary of this declaration, reaffirming its role as the birthplace and driving force of flamenco education, research, and creativity."

Andalusian Circuit of Peñas Flamencos

El flamenco It will also resonate throughout the province of Huelva with the Andalusian Circuit of Peñas Flamencas, which will offer seven performances in different municipalities between November 7 and 22. This program, organized in collaboration with the Provincial Federation of Peñas Flamencas de Huelva, highlights the role of the peñas as spaces for the conservation and dissemination of Andalusian intangible heritage and for meeting between artists and enthusiasts.

The performances will be held in Lepe, Paterna del Campo, Calañas, Almonte, El Campillo, Valverde del Camino and Paymogo, with artists such as Manuel de Monte, Regina, Elena Bellido, Verónica Campos 'La Canela', Rafael Talega and Antonia Contreras, along with renowned guitarists such as Gaspar of Holland.

El Flamenco, World Heritage

In November 2010, the Intergovernmental Committee of UNESCO recognized the flamenco as Intangible Heritage of Humanity, a milestone that consolidated its international projection. Since then, the Andalusian Regional Government has strengthened its commitment to its preservation, dissemination, and transmission, a commitment that has materialized in the approval of the Law of Flamenco, the first regional regulation dedicated exclusively to this cultural heritage.

With this program, Huelva joins the more than 170 activities planned throughout Andalusia to commemorate the 15th anniversary of this declaration, reaffirming its role as the birthplace and driving force of flamenco education, research, and creativity.
