La Granada Provincial Council has presented the 16th edition of the program Flamenco and Culture, an initiative that reaffirms the institutional commitment to the promotion of art jondo and its presence in every corner of the province. The Deputy for Culture and Education, Pilar Caracuel, together with the director of the Chair of Flamenco from the University of Granada, Pedro Ordóñez, revealed the details of an edition that combines tradition, innovation and a deep connection to the land.
The series will bring together leading artists such as Manuel Liñán, Sandra Carrasco, Gema Caballero, Sergio de Lope and David Arahal, and will culminate with the world premiere of the first Flamenco Choir of Granada, a historic event that will take place on November 16th at the Manuel de Falla Auditorium.
During the presentation, Caracuel emphasized that «Flamenco and Culture reaffirms Granada as a territory flamenco "A top-tier institution, a cradle of art and talent," emphasizing that the program "not only gives visibility to great figures, but also promotes artistic and educational development in our municipalities."
For his part, Ordóñez announced the participation of the Chair of Flamenco from the UGR with the proposal A white kiss, a commentary on a fable, Ernest Artillo y Martí Corberawhich will premiere on November 10 at the Admiral's Palace. According to the director, this activity "reinforces the idea of a flamenco open, contemporary, and in dialogue with other artistic disciplines."

Workshops, meetings and premieres
The program kicks off on November 3rd with the workshops El flamenco Explore Granada, taught by the Efat Group, in Beas de Granada, Dílar, Cájar and Cúllar Vega, with the participation of Antonio Campos, José Fermín, Irene Morales, Andrea Anguera and Marta BonillaThese sessions will bring the history, rhythm, and emotion of [the music/dance] closer to the public. flamenco from a participatory perspective.
From November 11th to 13th, the Palace of the Counts of Gabia will host the meetings Flamenco In perspective, three days dedicated to reflection and dialogue between artists and spectators.
The November 11, Sound perspectives in the flamenco contemporary will gather Sergio de Lope y Gem Knight, moderated by Alicia González.
The November 12, The Scene in the FlamencoUnpacking Call Me Lorca will Manuel Linan y Ernest Artillo.
The November 13, Flamenco in the present will close the cycle with Sandra Carrasco and David Arahal.
The grand finale will take place on November 16th with the official ceremony commemorating the 15th anniversary of the recognition of flamenco as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, where the Granada Flamenco Choir will premiere, made up of artists such as Antonio Campos, José Fermín Fernández, Irene Molina, Fita Heredia, Estrella de Manuela, Alba Campos, Juan Ángel Tirado, Sergio Colorao and Abraham Campos, in collaboration with the Granada City Council.
