Photo gallery of the emotional tribute from El Tacón Flamenco from Utrera to Manuela Carrasco

Although several days have passed since the closing of the XI Heel Festival Flamenco from Utrera On February 28, 2025, the Jerez Festival and a few hours of sleep have kept me distracted, resting the moments and especially the images that those who say are worth more than a thousand words say. Because then time passes and although the Latin phrase is true verba volant scripta manent –Words fly and what is written remains – even more so are the snapshots that take us back to relive the moments of depth and jolts stuck in the retina of memory flamencos that we who are poisoned by this art like so much. So, although I spill some ink telling four details about the tribute, without the intention of making a detailed chronicle, do not miss the extensive photographic report that you have below these letters with more than a hundred photos of that day. If you were there, it will come to mind. If not, you will draw in your imagination the extravagance of gypsyism that fell on the stage of the Enrique de la Cuadra Municipal Theatre from the land of the mustachones, Utrera.

Those to blame for everything are Luis de La Ramona y Manolito Pelusa, which through the association The compass that unites us They have been organizing this festival for more than ten years now. And on this occasion, coinciding with the celebration of the 600th anniversary of the arrival of the Gypsies in Spain, it is precisely a Gypsy dancer of category and respect who receives the tribute: Manuela Carrasco, simply Manuela.

«She had already announced a few days ago that she was not retiring from the stage. And her colleagues and friends wanted to support her as she deserves on such a special day as this, where Utrera and the flamenco They surrendered at her feet, recognizing why she is The Goddess.

She had already announced a few days ago that she was not retiring from the stage. And her colleagues and friends wanted to support her as she deserves on such a special day as this, where Utrera and the flamenco He surrendered at her feet, acknowledging why she is The Goddess.

Through projections of photos and videos of an interview, voiceovers by Manuela and of course a lot of art in the dance, the cante, the guitars and the beat, the taco was formed in his honor. His daughter Manuela Amador He danced pretending to be the witness with the violin of Samuel Cortes, Maria Terremoto swept away with its torrent, Gem Moneo He brought the Jerez style and the self-confidence in his dance, Rancapino Chico He dedicated his slow tangos to Manuela, Pepe Torres placeholder image the male dancing plant, Antonio Canales I could not fail to pay tribute to him by reciting a few letters, Zamara Carrasco sang and danced like a sooty whirlwind, Manuel Tañe, The Little BreastAlso The Tobala. Ruben Olmo, Jesus Mendez y Bethlehem Lopez, by video. And also Carmen Ledesma, Remedios Amaya, Manuela Carpio, Pepa Montes, Aurora Vargas, Rhina Motohkaw…And of course Manuela’s singer: Enrique the Extremaduran. Antonio Santiago 'Nerd', louis amador, Peter Sierra y Antonio Higuero to the guitars. To the beat Tarot, Juan Diego y Manuel valencia. And in the hearts of all Joaquin Amador, the love of her life, her guitarist and the father of her children. Always exploring the corners of memory and meaning with his guitar on a rush chair.

The greatest thing happened. It was very emotional. But it remains in the flesh of those who felt it. These photographs are a mere approximation, a slight memory with my clumsiness in looking through a camera.
