It has been almost a century since the most universal Granadan, Federico García Lorca, traveled to the Big Apple to give some lectures. It was 1929 and that experience was the seed of his Poet in New York. Now, Flamenco In its 24th edition, the New York Festival evokes this literary milestone that featured Lorca, the most flamenco of the so-called “cultured poets”, with a program that embraces the wealth and talent of the creators flamencofrom his homeland, Granada. For this purpose, Flamenco Festival will take to New York a delegation made up of more than 70 participants, including artists from cante, dance and touch, and technicians, who will give an account, between March 5 and 15, of the scope of the phenomenon flamenco Granadan, with proposals ranging from the most classic to the most experimental.

The Olivier Award winner, Eva Yerbabuena, returns triumphantly after his participation in Yerbabuena last year to showcase her extraordinary talent once again. She is accompanied by The Farru , part of a multigenerational legacy of greats of flamencoand the rising star Juan Thomas de la Molia .

The award-winning duo Estévez / Cloths and Company presents the flamenco with a contemporary twist. the confluence It highlights the versatility of the dancer with five performers and a live soundscape that takes you to discover the roots of flamenco, intertwining dance styles from around the world.

The winner of the Olivier Award, Sara Baras, returns to City Center with Vuela Fundación , a cinematic journey in four acts that pays tribute to the great guitarist flamenco Paco de Lucía Celebrated for her lightning-fast tap dancing, intricate movements, and commanding stage presence, Baras is recognized for a choreography that brings exceptional strength and intensity to every performance.
