Tuesday 7 for April
PALAU OF MUSIC. Barcelona
Sunday April 19
Cervantes Theatre. Malaga
The conceptual heart of the double album, IN ILLO TEMPOREIt resides in a clear idea: tradition as living energy. A vision that resonates with the phrase accompanying the album cover, attributed to Gustav Mahler: "Tradition is not the worship of ashes, but the preservation of fire."
IN ILLO TEMPORE. DOUBLE ALBUM: PURO Y ENTREVERAO
The album is structured in two clearly differentiated volumes: PURO y ENTREVERAOTwo universes that engage in dialogue from their very roots.
En PURO, Mayte Martín offers flamenco essential, without compromise: "PURE is just that: PURE. A flamenco without vestiges that treasures great and some neglected works of flamenco old, preserving and respecting it in both substance and form."
A work that champions purity as both ethics and aesthetics, accompanied by guitarist José Gálvez, heir to the Jerez tradition, with whom he has shared the stage since 2022.
For its part, ENTREVERAO It proposes an organic coexistence between sounds: "Everything you hear in ENTREVERAO is the result of the coexistence within me of ancient sounds of diverse nature that have shaped my musical interests since the beginning of my existence."
Far from any intention of modernizing, the objective is different: "There was no intention to modernize them, but to revitalize them and prolong their life in this era that I have been given to live in."
Es fire preservation the one that runs through every groove of this new work. "From this reverence for the past is born my impulse to transmit essence, that treasure that survives time and fashion; that which, beyond aesthetics and forms, remains floating in the air for centuries to come."
