Chair of FlamencoLodge Awards 2026

THE CHAIR OF FLAMENCOLODGE PRESENTS ITS 28 NATIONAL AWARDS THIS SATURDAY  
The event, which will begin at 12 noon with free admission until capacity is reached, will also feature live performances.

The 2025 edition of the National Awards Flamenco granted by the Chair of FlamencoThe Andalusian Folklore and Studies Conference of Jerez will be held tomorrow, Saturday, starting at 12 noon at the Atalaya Museums, with free access until capacity is reached.

The long-established organization will present these awards to Mayte Martín (National Prize of Cante), Juan Manuel Cañizares (National Guitar Prize), Ana María Bueno (National Dance Prize), Cristina Cruces (National Research Prize), José María Castaño (National Dissemination Prize), Juan Villar (National Master's Prize), Eulalia Pablo (Special Research Prize), and Calixto Sánchez (National Honorary PrizeThe Jerez Cups will also be awarded, prizes given to artists from Jerez in the following categories: cantedance and guitar. Thus, the Jerez Cup to cante will be for Enrique Soto, The Jerez Cup at the Dance and also to Leonor Leal, and the Jerez de guitarra cup and also to José Quevedo 'Bolita'.

The event will also feature, as it did in the 2023 edition, since these awards are biennial, different performances during the event, which will be presented by journalists Blanca Vega and Salvador Gutiérrez. 

Specifically, the guitarists Santiago Lara, Antonio Higuero and Nono Jero, the singers Felipa del Moreno, José Méndez, Miguel Lavi and will participate 

Lidia Hernández and the dancers Eva Ruiz-Berdejo, Miguel Téllez and Fernando Galán, the latter being members of the defunct Ballet Albarizuela directed by Paco del Río and Fernando Belmonte, who will be remembered with one of his pieces. 

The gala will also feature a special collaboration with Beigbeder Orchestra, which will be directed by José Colomé. 

It should be remembered that the National Awards of Flamenco They were created by the Chair of FlamencoThe awards were established in 1964 and have since been granted to the most emblematic artists on the scene. flamencoFrom Antonio Mairena to La Paquera, including Antonio El Bailarín, Paco de Lucía, and Paco Cepero, among many others. The 2025 edition will be the 28th.

The Copa Jerez, for its part, was created in 1967, coinciding with the birth of the Fiesta de la Bulería, also born from the inventiveness of the Cátedra, and whose main objective was to safeguard the flamenco from Jerez. It will celebrate its 26th edition in 2025.

For this occasion, the institution has had the collaboration of the Jerez City Council and the sponsorship of Fundación Unicaja, Solera Motor, Williams & Humbert and Clínicas Beiman.
