RULES: DANCE COMPETITION FLAMENCO 2026
Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the City Theatre, Plaza de la Libertad, 26000 Valencia
ARTICLE 1: CATEGORIES
The Contest of Flamenco de la Drôme is open to dancers of all nationalities and places of residence.
– Individual category with musicians:
Each dancer (15 years and older) will perform solo accompanied by the official musicians of the competition.
The finalists will dance a choreography with a maximum duration of 10 minutes in the palo of your choice.
– Category for flamenco dancers with recorded music:
Each dancer (15 years and older) may perform solo or in a duo.
The finalists will dance a choreography with a maximum duration of 8 minutes in the palo of your choice.
Attention: Dancers who exceed the allotted time will be penalized.
ARTICLE 2: REGISTRATIONS
Each dancer wishing to participate in the competition must send the completed and signed registration form (see last page) to
mailto: concoursflamencodrome@gmail.com with the subject line "contest of flamenco 2026" and with the requested documents.
Each dancer who wishes to participate in the competition must pay the sum of €30, an amount that will be refunded if they are not selected.
The finalists will be chosen through a video pre-selection process. Therefore, each flamenco dancer wishing to participate in the competition must submit a high-quality video, no longer than 10 minutes, about a palo tax: by Alegrias.
Each participant's video will be viewed by professionals from flamencowho will select the finalists.
The pre-selection process is open until March 24, 2026.
No registrations will be accepted after this date.

NO INCOMPLETE FILE WILL BE PROCESSED
Starting March 31, 2026, the Hispanic Cultural Center will announce, via email, the finalists who will participate in the 15th Competition of Flamenco of the Drôme.
ARTICLE 3: SELECTION
The finalists will perform on April 25, 2026 at the Valence City Theatre.
The order of performance will be drawn.
Each finalist must be present at the Valence City Theatre at the time indicated in their call for entries, for the proper development of the Competition.
Those who arrive late will not be accepted.
Each finalist will have 8 minutes to perform the sound check and rehearsal with or without musicians.
ARTICLE 4: THE JURY
The jury members will be contacted later.
ARTICLE 5: THE AWARDS
– Category with musicians only:
1st prize: €500
+ A performance at the Café Ziryab flamenco venue in Madrid and a private lesson with Sarini Nieto
+ A performance at the El Cortijo Flamenco Tavern in Madrid
+ A performance at the La Cátedra flamenco club flamenco in Madrid and a private lesson with Rafael Jiménez El Tato
2nd prize: A week of classes with El Tato at the school of flamenco The Chair in Madrid
3rd prize: A complete set of Carmencika jewelry + a €30 voucher
– Category: Dancer with recorded music
1st prize: €300
+ A one-week workshop with half-board accommodation at Espiritu Andalus in Iznájar
2nd prize: A pair of Carmencika earrings + €20
3rd prize: A Carmencika jewel + €15 voucher
ARTICLE 6: RIGHT TO ONE'S IMAGE
Participants grant the Hispanic Cultural Center and its partners the right to use their image in filming, television broadcasts, videos, photographs, or other media for communication and promotional purposes. Candidates under the age of 18 must have the authorization of their parents or legal guardians.
ARTICLE 7: RESPONSIBILITIES
The Hispanic Cultural Center declines all responsibility in case of loss or theft of personal belongings in the wings or in the hall, each person being responsible for their belongings.
The Hispanic Cultural Center cannot be held responsible in the event of a candidate's health problems.
The Hispanic Cultural Center cannot be held responsible in case of injuries outside or inside the event reception area (dressing rooms, backstage, stage, theater, hall, exterior access areas, etc.).
The Hispanic Cultural Center cannot be held responsible for any damage caused to or suffered by any person, including teachers, candidates and/or the public, both during the tests and during travel caused by, and/or for, the competition.
Candidates must be covered by their own liability insurance or that of their dance association or organization. Candidates must provide a certificate of insurance no later than the day of the competition.
ARTICLE 8: ACCEPTANCE
– Registration and participation in the competition imply full and complete acceptance of these regulations.
– Acceptance of the right to one's image is mandatory.
– The organizers reserve the right to modify these regulations without prior notice.
– The organizers reserve the right to modify the schedules if the number of participants requires it and to cancel the contest if the minimum number of participants is not reached.
– All registrations are final. No refunds will be issued in case of withdrawal, except if the Hispanic Cultural Center has to cancel the Contest due to force majeure.
