The Tablao Flamenco Café Ziryab is a modern establishment in Madrid, with simple and careful decoration, slightly themed and where everything is arranged to focus attention on what is really important, our show.
Our venue has 80 seats, with tables and chairs of different heights arranged so that the stage can be seen from all angles.
The stage is 16 square meters and its height is ideal to comfortably appreciate all the details of the show. We have a magnificent sound system and lighting system, with which to create an environment and an atmosphere conducive to enjoying the show. flamenco.

For us, what is really important and what we focus on is nothing other than the flamenco. Thus, to ensure full attention to artistic development, our gastronomic proposal is aimed at offering only those products that pair well with the shows.
We have a variety of cold tapas, Iberian cured meats and similar. In short, a selected gastronomic offer so that our clients can fully enjoy the show, while tasting some of our tapas.
In addition, our efforts are focused on offering a carefully selected wine list that satisfies the most exquisite of mouths and serves to relate the magnificent wine culture that exists in Spain and that is so closely related to the flamenco and especially with some palos.

Who was Ziryab?
Abu L-Hasan Ali Ibn Nafi, known as Ziryab (زرياب, "Blackbird") because of his dark complexion and beautiful voice, was a poet, gastronome, musician and singer. He was famous for the refined oriental customs that he introduced to the Cordoban court. A disciple of the great musician Ishaq al-Mawsili (767-850), he spent his childhood in Baghdad, but would achieve his fame once he settled in Cordoba, where he arrived after a long journey.
In Cordoba, Ziryab became a well-known figure and was considered the arbiter of the elegance of the Arab rulers. With Ziryab, oriental melodies of Greco-Persian origin entered Hispania, which would form the basis of much of the later traditional music of at least part of the Iberian Peninsula. He added a fifth string to the lute, founded the first conservatory in the Islamic world and introduced the Arabic songs known as "nubas".
With Ziryab, Cordoba high society also learned the most exquisite novelties of the East: combing their hair with a fringe, recipes from Baghdad cuisine (one of the recipes is preserved today with his name: Ziriabí), the consumption of asparagus and the use of crystal glasses instead of gold and silver ones, as well as fine leather tablecloths. We want to capture the spirit of this great character, innovator and precursor in many disciplines, and transfer it to Café Ziryab, a place where music, gastronomy and pedagogy coexist, as well as other cultural disciplines.
