The Territorial Delegation of the ELEVEN In Andalusia, Ceuta and Melilla, the X Flamenco Biennial has been convened, which will award young talents. cante And at the same time, it will recognize an artist with a disability at the gala to be held on October 15 at the Isabel la Católica Theatre in Granada. Since 2006, ONCE has always held its Flamenco Biennial in Granada, championing the flamenco as a symbol of Andalusian identity and as a tool for the inclusion of people with disabilities in society. Artists can participate in the Biennial. flamencos, in the form of cante or touch, under 35 years of age (born after February 2, 1987). For artists with disabilities, there is no age limit, although they must provide proof of their disability certificate.
The competition establishes a prize of 2.011 Euros for the modalities of canteguitarist and artist with a disability in the category of cante or guitar. The deadline for submitting applications to participate in this edition of the Flamenco Biennial begins today, February 2nd, and will remain open until 14:00 PM on Monday, June 15th.
In the category of cante They must interpret at least three cantes, one for 'granaína and media granaína', one classical (seguiriyas, soleás, cabales, serranas, livianas, tonás, martinetes, deblas, cañas or polos) and another of free choice. In the playing modality they must present two, a guitar 'solo' and an accompaniment to the cante, to choose from.

The jury, chaired by the ONCE territorial delegate in Andalusia, Ceuta and Melilla, Cristóbal Martínez, will be composed of seven members and will include people of recognized prestige in the world of flamenco both in the modality of cante as in the guitar field, as well as in the media that are linked to the field of flamencoThe jury will meet before July 15th and its decision will be final.
In its last edition, in 2024, this competition distinguished the singer from Linares Alba Martos, the guitarist from Granada Pablo Campos and the guitarist from Arjona (Jaén) as an artist with a disability and paid tribute to the Ballet Flamenco of Andalusia on its 30th Anniversary already the peña flamenca The Silversmiths on their 75th Anniversary.
