Our passion for promoting flamenco culture has led us to a new adventure. This Thursday, April 16th, at 8:00 pm, the 'Vinyl Club' Expoflamenco'. And we will do it with nothing less than an extraordinary album like this one 'Brown Colors' which they recorded as a compact disc Juan Moneo The Cake y Moraito in 1994 (Audivis Ethnics) but which was transferred to microgroove in 2023 by the label 'Flamenco on vinyl'.
The sessions will last approximately 50 minutes and their main objective is the enjoyment and in-depth study of the records selected by the members of our club. In this case, for example, we will listen to each track of the album to look for answers to questions such as: what references does Juan take from history? Moneo for their bulería, fandangos, soleá or siguiriya? Which historical figure from cante Is he being honored? What are his personal contributions?… At the forefront will be José María Castaño, coordinator of the Space ExpoflamencoBut the interesting thing will be sharing it among everyone.
Where: Space Expoflamenco on Diego Fernández Herrera street, s/n, Jerez de la Frontera (Cádiz)
When: Thursday, April 16, 2026
Time: 20,00 hours.
In-person option: reservation required (see below)
The session can then be followed on our podcast.
Naturally, we'll finish with a glass of sherry. As my colleague Gonzalo López rightly says, a Vinyl and Wine session. And although it may seem like a club for nostalgics, nothing could be further from the truth because the 33 rpm record is booming in new record releases.
