El Pedro Muñoz Seca Municipal Theater de El Puerto de Santa María (Cádiz) will be the stage on July 29, at 20:30 p.m., for the premiere of Albert Flamenco between verses, a great production directed by the dancer José Leiva which pays tribute to the poet from El Puerto Rafael Alberti on the 25th anniversary of his death. The event, organized by the Dance Academy Flamenco de Leiva, in collaboration with the Department of Festivals, promises a night of art and collective memory around one of the city's most universal creators.
More than a hundred students from the academy will bring to the stage episodes from the life and work of the author of sailor ashore, in a production that will combine dance, poetry and live music. The choreography, designed by Leiva, will explore different palos of the flamenco such as alegrías, fandangos and cañas, accompanied by a large musical cast: Noelia de los Ríos and Güito al cante, Jesule del Puerto y Adrian Heredia on the guitar, Pacolli on percussion, J to the transverse flute and Lourdes Borrego together with Leiva himself at palmas.
The show will also feature the participation of the canteof the Carnival of El Puerto, who will give voice to several poems by sailor ashoreThe narration will be provided by the actor javier villar, whose voice will be integrated with music and dance to evoke the essence of Albert's universe.

During the official presentation, the Deputy Mayor for Fiestas, David Calleja, highlighted José Leiva's "enormous work capacity and talent" for carrying out a project of this magnitude. The director, for his part, wished to thank his team for their support and the collaboration of Fran Botella, José María Botella, Alba González, Naira Cecilia, Azahara Zayn, and other individuals and institutions involved in the production.
Leiva considers this work "the culmination of a whole year of preparation", in which art, flamenco, history and heritage of El Puerto. After the success of Mother, the emotional piece that in 2023 he dedicated to his mother and all the mothers of the world, the dancer wanted this time to pay tribute to Rafael Alberti, "a figure little evoked since the flamenco, who now finds in this language a perfect bridge to the hearts of the public."
