A proposal that has grown year after year, turning El Bierzo into one of the rising regions of flamenco culture. Bierzo to the touch presents its third edition in the revalidation of a bet that explores all manifestations of the genre, from the cante to the touch or the dance, in a cultural event that is already completely consolidated. In a press conference held at the Corral de la Morería of Madrid, one of the great temples of flamenco, its third edition has been presented, which will take place again in Ponferrada (León) between July 23 and 26, and which once again serves to revitalize the cultural, architectural and gastronomic activity of a territory as full of history as the Bierzo region.

The event was presented by the journalist Jose Manuel Gamboa, in charge of revealing the honorees of this edition: the singer Carmen Linares, who also performs in this edition, the photographer and promoter of flamenco culture Pepe Lamarca, and the Corral de la Morería, "the oldest and at the same time the most modern place in the flamenco", as Gamboa explained.

At the press conference, Conception Fernandez Diez, Director of Museums, Heritage and Culture of the City of Energy Foundation (CIUDEN), highlighted that this event, with only three editions, is already setting the pace for the flamenco in northwest Spain. “What began as a brave idea is now a reality,” he said. “Ponferrada, without a tradition of flamenco, is already becoming a reference for the flamenco. None of this would be possible without the people who supported this project from the beginning, organizations that support the flamenco and culture. When the flamenco finds its place no matter if there is tradition." He also wanted to highlight that the programming in this edition is betting on female talent. "The flamenco It is not still, it evolves, and this festival is situated in that place between tradition and modernity,” he explained.

The singer Archangel, the festival's ambassador, was also present at the event, where he recalled the challenge that getting involved with Bierzo al Toque represented from the very beginning. "When it comes to adding a new territory to the flamenco"That's very important to me, and I do it with great pleasure," he explained. "The concept of Bierzo al Toque has been from the beginning that that touch, that accompaniment, comes from the land, from what that land, El Bierzo, offers. That this place contributes to our culture and our art," he added.

The Corral de la Morería hosted the presentation of the third edition of Bierzo al Toque, to be held in Ponferrada (León) from July 23rd to 26th. This event once again serves to boost the cultural, architectural, and gastronomic activity of a region as steeped in history as the Bierzo region.

Carmen Linares, legend of flamenco and one of the honorees of this edition, immediately took the floor to show her gratitude for this recognition, shared with Pepe Lamarca, “an artist who has reflected our art very well, and the Corral de la Morería, which is our home,” he explained. “Whenever a new space opens, we are all attentive to its growth, so that there is a space for our art. flamenco He has a force that makes him stay when he arrives somewhere,” said Linares.

The event was also attended by Juan Manuel del Rey, director and co-owner of the Corral de la Morería, one of the honorees at this year's Bierzo al Toque. Del Rey wanted to focus on the festival's role as a disseminator of flamenco, and showed the support of an institution of the flamenco like the Corral de la Morería to this initiative.

Miguel MoranBierzo al Toque's coordinator, was responsible for outlining this year's program after thanking all the collaborating institutions. He highlighted the value of the participating artists and the honorees of this year's festival. He also announced that the parallel activities that will take place this year will be revealed at an upcoming press conference.

The third edition of Bierzo al Toque will begin on Wednesday, July 23rd, with a free event outside La Fábrica de Luz, the Energy Museum in Ponferrada. On Thursday, July 24th, the Turbinas hall at La Térmica Cultural will take over as the festival's centerpiece.

Tickets for the evenings at the Sala Turbinas will be available starting May 3 at www.latermicacultural.es for €10, with a complimentary fan.
