From October 9th to November 7th, Seville will once again become the world capital of the six strings with the celebration of XVI Seville Guitar Festival, an event that this year pays tribute to the painter Julio Romero de Torres on the 95th anniversary of his death. Among the extensive programming, the flamenco occupies a leading role, reaffirming the Andalusian roots of a competition that combines tradition and avant-garde.
The festival will host established figures and new generations of guitar playing. flamenco. Rafael Riqueni, an undisputed reference, will present Inheritance at the Music Palace of Villanueva del Ariscal (October 19). José Antonio Rodríguez will offer his show The look of Romero de Torres (October 18, Espacio Turina), while Manuel valencia will take the program to the Museum of Fine Arts Between brushes and flamenco (October 28), a dialogue between the Cordoban painting and art jondo.
