La Provincial Council of Seville presented on Tuesday, September 30, the program for the first edition of the Festival Flamenco Duende, which will take place from October 16 to November 28 in fifteen theaters in municipalities of this province, with top-level artists: the singers Maria Terremoto, Jose Merce, Israel Fernandez, Rafael de Utrera, Jose Valencia and Argentina and the dancers Farruquito and Manuel Liñán, with his companies.
This is one of the great novelties in the institution's cultural programming for this autumn of 2025, due to the diversity of stages and the quality of the artists who attend, with shows with which they are on tour or with which they have had notable success at the last Biennial of Flamenco of Seville. This initiative by the Provincial Council has a dual objective: to bring culture to all regions and to ensure that the citizens of the province have the opportunity to enjoy the intangible heritage that constitutes the Flamenco.
“El Duende is here to stay, we are not going to spare any financial, technical or human resources to make it work, because there is a lot of enthusiasm in the municipalities to join this great project that is born around the Flamenco from the Provincial Council of Seville," the president highlighted, Javier Fernández de los Ríos, who has used the program as an example of the request he made to his team when he took office: that everyone in their area maintain the programs that were operating in the institution, but that they "reinvent and innovate," and that they not be afraid to do so.
This festival "was created to be a powerful program, to democratize culture," said Fernández, who is confident that, as happened with the El Patio+Metrópolis Festival, in which 32.000 tickets were sold in six hours and all the shows were full, the tickets are sold out, because it will be “a sign that it has been a good project”, that it can be “improved in successive years, once we consolidate it in the balance that we also want to seek between the Biennial and the Duende, the Duende and the Biennial, so that there is not a single year without flamenco in Seville." He also said that a strong cultural offering in the province is "a way to ease tension in Seville and fill the towns with content, complementing the programming they already have." "So that the province has a top-level program that makes people proud of their towns and their province."
"This commitment by the Provincial Council has a double objective: to bring culture to all regions and to contribute to ensuring that the citizens of the province have the opportunity to enjoy the intangible heritage that constitutes the Flamenco»

From Dos Hermanas to Marinaleda
The program includes fifteen performances in fifteen municipalities ranging from large metropolitan areas to municipalities in the Lower Guadalquivir, passing through the Sierra Sur: Utrera, Bollullos de la Mitación, Marinaleda, Marchena, Tomares, Alcalá de Guadaíra, Sanlúcar la Mayor, Osuna, Lebrija, El Viso del Alcor, Mairena del Alcor, La Rinconada, Morón de la Frontera, Dos Hermanas and Mairena del Aljarafe.
This is the first time that a program has been launched flamenco so ambitious in the province of Seville, which demonstrates the commitment of the Provincial Council to this art. Since the beginning of the biennial of Flamenco of SevillaSince the 80s, the institution has been contributing to the financing of shows and the provision of venues belonging to the Provincial Council, including San Luis de los Franceses. Building on that experience, the organization has gone a step further with Duende, a festival whose first edition has prioritized municipalities with a long flamenco tradition, although it is intended to continue over time and reach many more.
The poster for this first edition of the Festival Flamenco Duende, which was also presented this Tuesday at the event held in Torre Cruzcampo, is signed by Fatima Gonzalez Garcia, graphic designer and member of the collective 'The Sevillaner'.
This initiative reaffirms the commitment of the Provincial Council of Seville to the Flamenco, allocating more than one million euros to the programming of recitals in 86 municipalities of the province, the line of support for festivals flamencos, the contest 'Living History of the Flamenco' or the direct subsidy to the Provincial Federation of PeñaFlamencos for the development of recitals in the headquarters that these entities have in the Seville territory.
Tickets for each of the shows, scheduled from Thursday to Sunday, will go on sale on Monday of the week in which they take place, at a unit price of 10 euros. Fifty percent of tickets will be available online, and the remaining 50 percent will be reserved for physical sale in each municipality where the show takes place, to encourage local audiences to attend.
