On October 4th, the Flamenco Gathering of Ceuta will start a new edition of the Cycle Flamenco in the Strait, an event that this year is especially emotional as it is dedicated once again to the memory of Paco Vallecillo, a reference point for Ceuta's cultural life.

The day starts at 17:45 p.m. with the conference Dolores Agujetas at the root of the cry, pronounced by the journalist flamenco Manuel Martin Martin, as a prologue, which will serve to contextualize the trajectory and the cante of a singer from Jerez.

The event will also feature the presentation of Carlos Vargas, president of the Society of Cante Grandee of Algeciras, who will highlight the cultural dimension and significance of this edition dedicated to Vallecillo.

Dolores 'Agujetas' and Rubichi's touch

After the institutional opening and the conference, at 19 p.m. he will take the stage. Dolores 'Agujetas', accompanied on guitar by Domingo Rubichi'sThe singer, heir to one of the most legendary sagas of the flamenco, will deploy its cante jondo in a recital that promises to be of great emotional intensity.

«The start with Dolores 'Agujetas' is a declaration of intent: Ceuta is betting on a flamenco from the roots, without concessions, capable of shaking and moving from purity"

Her raspy, visceral voice connects directly with the tradition of the Agujetas, one of the most solid pillars of the Jerez school. At her side, Rubichi offers the solidity of a restrained and precise touch, capable of sustaining and enhancing every note of the singer's voice.

The inauguration of this cycle will not only be an artistic spectacle, but also a vindication of the flamenco as a language of memory, tribute and cultural continuity.

A cycle with roots and memory

The cycle Flamenco in the Strait has established itself as one of the autonomous city's major cultural attractions. Its name evokes the bridge between shores, reinforcing the idea of flamenco as a shared heritage between peoples and generations.

This year, the series is also tinged with emotion, dedicated to Paco Vallecillo, whose role was instrumental in promoting Ceuta's culture. The Tertulia Flamenca aims to pay tribute to him with a program that unites tradition and memory.

The start with Dolores 'Agujetas' is a declaration of intent: Ceuta is betting on a flamenco from the roots, without concessions, capable of shaking and moving from purity.

Conference, tribute and recital will go hand in hand in an evening that promises to be unforgettable for fans, uniting the strength of cante, the word and the memory in a single act.

The public eagerly awaits the start of a new season in which Ceuta will once again reaffirm its position as a leading flamenco destination, projecting its voice beyond the Strait of Gibraltar.
