Centro Danza Matadero, a space of the Department of Culture, Tourism and Sports, closes the first half of 2025 with a living legend of the arts. flamencoJuan Manuel Fernández Montoya, known as Farruquito, will offer from June 26 to 28, Dance Recital #1, his latest work that combines technique, rhythm and expression, with which he begins a new tour and which transports the viewer to the very essence of flamenco.
The acclaimed dancer will return to one of his passions: canteWith a simple approach, this show will pay tribute to the flamenco voice through its own language. The Sevillian artist will showcase his best version with an exclusive repertoire composed of ten pieces of cante and dance: intro, fandango, seguirilla, soleá por bulería, alegrías, bulerías, taranto, farruca, tangos, and finale or fiesta finale. A performance in which Farruquito will explore his deepest inspiration.
Since his first performance, Raíces Flamencas, the artist has composed the lyrics and music for his shows. This time, he created the live music with Manuel Valencia, who will accompany him on guitar. Pepe de Pura, Zambullo, and Manuel de la Nina will also be on the set. cante; percussion by Paco Vega; Julián Heredia on bass; and wind instruments by Fran Roca. La Fabi will be the guest artist on this occasion.
The show, recommended for all audiences, is included in the City Council's Youth Cultural Pass, which allows free admission for young people aged 16 to 26 to the performance on Thursday, June 26.
