The dancer and choreographer Cristina Hoyos placeholder image (Seville, 1946), National Dance Prize winner and founder of Dance Museum Flamenco of Sevilla, will be the godmother of XXXIV International Festival of Flamenco City of the Sun, which is celebrated on November 8th and 9th in the Margarita Lozano Auditorium from Lorca, Murcia. The contest, organized by the Peña Flamenco Cultural Center City of the Sun With the collaboration of the Lorca City Council and the Institute of Cultural Industries and Arts of the Government of Murcia, the festival has surpassed all previous records with more than fifty flamenco singers registered. Parallel activities and cultural programming
The festival expands its offerings with a series of complementary activities. Among them, the photographic exhibition stands out. Peaks of art flamenco, by the artist from Murcia Juan Ballester, coordinated by the sculptor from Lorca Lola Arcas and open at the Casa del Artesano until November 8th.
In addition, the winner of the last edition, José Olmo Carrasco, has given a recital on October 24 in the same space, as a prelude to a competition that combines tradition, emerging talent and a tribute to the great figures of the genre.
