Documentary series flamencos at the Málaga Biennial

The documentary series of the Art Biennial Flamenco The MVA kicked off on Tuesday, July 1st, with 'Quixote in New York.' On Tuesdays of that same month, films about Carrete, fandangos, Anita Delgado, Fosforito, and zambra will be shown.

On Tuesday, July 1, the documentary series began at the MVA Cultural Center of the Provincial Council scheduled by the IX Art Biennial Flamenco from Malaga. He did it with the projection of Don Quixote in New York, starring the dancer Reel and directed by Jorge Peña Martín. In the 83-minute film, they collaborate Rocío Molina, Miguel Poveda y Tim RiesAdmission is free until capacity is reached.

The series will continue on Tuesdays in July with the screening of documentaries about Carrete, fandangos, Anita Delgado, Fosforito, and zambra.

The screening will take place on July 8th FandangoDirected by Remedios Malvarez y Arturo Andujar, which features the participation of Argentine musicians Rocío Márquez, Perlita de Huelva, Arcángel, Rafael Estévez, Cristian de Moret, Jeromo Segura, and Sandra Carrasco. The film runs for 90 minutes.

On July 15th it will be passed Ana Delgado. Memories of India, a 63-minute film by Pedro Callejas about the life of Anita Delgado, a Maharani from Kapurthala. The flamenco dancer created a piece about this woman from Malaga Luisa Palicio a great show that opened the Art Biennial in May Flamenco from Malaga at the Cervantes Theater.

On July 22, the fifth golden key of the cante stars Fosforito, a story of flamenco, a documentary directed by his son, Alejandro Fernández Barrientos. In addition to Maestro Fosforito, the film also features Miguel Poveda, Manuel Curao, Juan José Téllez, Chiquito de la Calzá, Adelfa Soto, Blanca del Rey, Cristina Hoyos, Marina Heredia, La Cañeta, Antonio Carmona, José Antonio Rodríguez, Esperanza Fernández, Arcángel, Pablo García Baena, El Pele and Pepa Montes.

The documentary cycle of the Biennial will close on July 29 with Zambra, an award-winning 83-minute film directed by José Sánchez Montes in which Curro Albaicín, Marina Heredia, Santi Leonard, Paquita de la Chon, Jara Heredia, Gabriela Remedo, Angustias Ruiz and Jaime Heredia take part.
