Aurora Vargas arrives at Flamenco in Soho with 'Roots and Feelings'

It will be held on April 30th at the CaixaBank Soho Theater in Málaga. Other artists included in this season's lineup include Israel Fernández, Manuel Liñán & Cía., Mayte Martín, and Miguel Poveda.

The temperament and knowledge of Aurora Vargas llegan to Flamenco in Soho on April 30 to highlight the cante traditional and show off your gypsy heritage on the stage Soho CaixaBank Theatre from Malaga. It will be with Roots and feelings, a show that claims the essence of flamenco orthodox and with which this fifth edition approaches the halfway point of the season, which started in March and has already featured the voices of La Macanita, Rafael de Utrera and Laura Gallego.

Thus, Flamenco in Soho, born from the close collaboration between Teatro del Soho CaixaBank and Green Cow Music with the aim of giving art the place it deserves jondo, Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, will be extended until July 12, 2025 with performances by other great figures of the panorama flamenco , the Israel Fernández, Manuel Liñán & Cía, Mayte Martín and Miguel Poveda.

Born in the Macarena neighborhood of Seville, and with family roots in Cádiz, Aurora Vargas is recognized for her ability to combine the purest tradition with a unique expressive force. Her first event of national impact in cante jondo It was in 1986, when she was nominated as a revelation artist in the IV Art Fortnight Flamenco, held at the Lope de Vega Theater in Seville. Since then, he has taken his art around the world, participating in iconic projects such as the films Carmen, Francesco Rosi, and Flamenco, Carlos Saura, or in productions with the company of Antonio gades in Paris. In his recordings, such as Cold Steel y Orso Romí, highlighting her versatility and artistic mastery, and in 2014 she was recognized with the Medal of the City of Seville.

A Flamenco in Soho arrives with Roots and feelings, an orthodox show but refreshed with the palos more festive. In it you can outline cantes such as the soleá or the seguiriya, tangos, and bulerías, on which the artist imprints her distinctive personal stamp. Her festive energy, imposing stage presence, and passion make Aurora Vargas one of the most outstanding artists of the genre, capable of embodying the essence of the gypsy quejío, which can be enjoyed on the 30th at 20:XNUMX p.m. at the Teatro del Soho CaixaBank.

For this show, the Sevillian will be accompanied by the Jerez guitar of Miguel Salado and palmas and the hubbub of Diego Montoya, Miguel Salado and Javi Peña, who will be part of their emotional dedication and the incomparable displays of their dance.
