Seville, February 19, 2026.

Next March 14th (8:00 PM), the Villamarta Theatre in Jerez host Women sing to Lola Flores, A unique event in which thirteen artists will celebrate the legacy of one of the most universal and charismatic figures in Spanish culture through his iconic repertoire. Organized by Green Cow MusicThe show has a strong charitable focus and will donate its proceeds to the Association of Women with Breast Cancer of Seville (AMAMA Seville), an organization that promotes research into this disease and supports patients to ensure a dignified life during and after the cancer process.

“At AMAMA, we dedicate ourselves wholeheartedly to research because we want to die of old age, not cancer. I don't want to die because I want to enjoy life. You don't know how wonderful life is when you think you're going to lose it; priorities start to crumble, and your sole priority becomes love. And what you are doing is an act of love for all women with this disease. Everything that comes out of this will go to research and to support women with breast cancer. With these actions, you make them happy and help them through this process. We must value these acts. Look how beautiful it is: women singing for women,” said the president of AMAMA Seville. Angela Claverol, during the presentation of the show, emphasizing the social and human dimension of this initiative.

The presentation event, held this Thursday the 19th at the Hesperia Sevilla Hotel, also included the participation of some of the artists featured on the poster —Laura Gallego, Mara Rey, María Terremoto and Paula Ramírez (Las Migas)—, the Director of Culture of the Jerez City Council, Abraham Hernandez, and the deputy director of Green Cow Music, Adela Algarínwho have revealed some of the artistic keys to the production in front of a flamenco dress with a train that the artist wore during the filming of Sevillanas, by Carlos Saura, on loan from the Lola Flores Cultural Center of Jerez de la Frontera. Thus, on the Villamarta stage, the voices and artistry of Argentina, Las Migas, Laura Gallego, Lorena Gómez, Lucía Fernanda, Mara Rey, María Terremoto, María Toledo, Marina Carmona and the flamenco dancer Pastora Galvan They will explore the different stages of Lola Flores' career, from the overwhelming force that made her a legend to her most intimate and personal side: that of a creator who was song, dance, words and temperament.

The proceeds from the event will go to AMAMA Sevilla, an association that promotes breast cancer research.

“Singing to Lola and sharing her songs with the world is an honor. I was lucky enough to know her and experience her life from a young age, and to be friends with her family. We have immense respect for her, and I think it comes across beautifully because we sing her songs with our souls and hearts. I have to confess that the moment I learned about this great tribute and the cause it was for, I dared to call and wanted to be there and sing, because it's a subject that's very close to my heart,” Mara Rey declared during the event. “I don't think there's a single woman who doesn't admire Lola, first as an artist, then as a brave and free spirit. She's a great role model for us because she taught us to be free and has become an icon of our country,” María Terremoto emphasized, noting her enthusiasm for contributing her “grain of sand” to this cause. A “beautiful” cause that Laura Gallego also championed, who will be providing the more “folkloric” element. In this regard, she encouraged everyone and hoped “that all the tickets for March 14th will sell out.” A date that makes Paula Ramírez very happy, as she confessed during the presentation, because she is sharing the stage with artists who are role models for her, just like Lola: "You couldn't have chosen a better icon, because what she represents as a brave and fighting woman is ideal."

With musical direction by José Antonio Márquez and artistic direction by Pedro Centeno, the show will also emphasize Lola Flores's close relationship with poetry and the written word. In this regard, the figures of Federico García Lorca and Rafael de León will be very present, evoking that Lola who recited with passion and conceived of art as a complete expression of the soul.

“Whirlwind of Colors”, “Sorrow, Little Sorrow, Sorrow”, “The Blackberry”, “By Your Side”, “Alms of Love”, “The Lerele”, “And If He Knows It, What?”, “I Give It to You”, “Let the Tiger Eat Me”, “Sevillanas by Carlos Saura” and “Don’t Throw Indiré at Me” will be part of the repertoire of an evening that will culminate with a very special choral piece, “Bread and Chocolate”, a piece that represents the entire Flores family and symbolizes the artistic heritage, the union and the transmission of a way of understanding art deeply rooted in Spanish popular culture.

In the words of Adela Algarín, this tribute doesn't seek to imitate, but to celebrate: to revisit songs and words from a contemporary perspective. “Lola Flores has meant much more to Spanish culture than being an artist. Lola is a symbol of identity, passion, and popular character. She achieved something truly great: that art became a direct expression of emotion. This made her an icon, a symbol of national identity because of her passion, strength, and authenticity, with which we all identify.”

The project is part of the "Women Sing to..." series, launched by Green Cow Music in 2020. This initiative combines culture, music, and social commitment, transforming each edition into an artistic event with a charitable impact. The last remaining tickets for this unique event can be purchased on the Teatro Villamarta website.
