The 43rd Festival of Cante Flamenco The Búcaro pays tribute to Jafelín Helten, founder of ExpoFlamenco

The festival, one of the oldest and most prestigious on the scene flamenco Andalusian, dedicates its 2026 edition to the driving force behind the international media outlet that has carried the voice of the flamenco to the whole world.

El Búcaro Festival

La Peña Cultural Flamenca El Búcaro, in collaboration with the La Rinconada City Council (Seville), wanted to recognize this year the career of Jafelín Helten, founder of ExpoFlamencodedicating the 43rd edition of the Festival to him Cante Flamenco The Búcaro, which is celebrated on September 18 at 22 p.m. at the Santa Cruz Hacienda.

Dedication to the international projection of flamenco
The El Búcaro Festival, which this year celebrates its 43rd edition, has maintained since its inception more than four decades ago the philosophy of offering a top-quality lineup and preserving the purity of the flamenco and contribute to its dissemination among new generations. Each year, the organization dedicates the competition to an institution or person linked to the world of flamenco, a dedication that on this occasion falls to Jafelín Helten and the project he represents.

ExpoFlamenco It has established itself as one of the leading publications for information, criticism, and promotion of flamenco on an international scale, building bridges between fans both inside and outside of Spain. The dedication of El Búcaro focuses precisely on this cultural ambassadorship, in the same vein that has led Jafelín Helten to receive recognition such as that from the Mairena del Alcor City Council for his work promoting the flamenco in the international arena

A top-notch lineup
The festival will feature cante with El Pele, headliner and one of the essential voices of cante contemporary; Consuelo Haldón, a flamenco singer from Huelva with a solid career; Rubito Hijo, heir to an important flamenco dynasty; Caracolillo de Cádiz, representative of the Cádiz school, and Fernando El Goyo, a flamenco singer linked to the Peña The Búcaro.

The musicians will be accompanied by Antonio Carrión, recipient of the 2025 Gold Medal of the Province of Seville, Niño Seve, Manuel Herrera, and Juan Quirós, while Manuel Herrera Jr. will perform as solo guitarist. Concha Carrión and Ángel will provide the rhythmic accompaniment. Peñaat palmas, and the hosting of the show will once again fall to Salvador Milla.

The poster image features the "Ojos Verdes" (Green Eyes) vase, a work by artist Marina Ortiz and winner of the "Dame el Búcaro" (Give Me the Vase) initiative, which brought together fifty contemporary artists to reinterpret the symbol that gives the festival its name. The twelve pieces most highly rated by the jury have been linked to the twelve artists featured on this year's poster, in a dialogue between contemporary art and flamenco.

Tickets, priced at a single rate of 10 euros, will go on sale on September 1st at the La Villa Cultural Center, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, and can also be purchased on the day of the festival at the Hacienda Santa Cruz box office, starting one hour before the festival begins, subject to availability. ♦
