The 'Lorca and Granada in the Generalife Gardens' series arrives in full force for its 25th edition

The Minister of Culture and Sport of the Andalusian Regional Government, Patricia del Pozo, has announced the program for the 25th edition of the 'Lorca and Granada in the Generalife Gardens' series, which between July 31 and August 29 will feature three major shows, headlined by the flamenco dancer Manuela Carrasco, the Ballet Flamenco from Andalusia, directed by Patricia Guerrero and Kiki Morente, who, along with Lagartija Nick and the dancer Israel Galván, will commemorate the 30th anniversary of the release of the legendary album Omega from his father, Enrique Morente.

Twenty-five editions

In this edition, the program revolves around three proposals that approach Lorca's work from a contemporary perspective, maintaining a balance between tradition and experimentation. The lineup brings together renowned companies and artists who offer fresh perspectives on a body of work that continues to be a touchstone of contemporary culture.

Thus, between July 31 and August 15, the performance will take place. The gypsy women sing and dance to Lorca, which emphasizes the transmission of the legacy of the poet from Fuentevaqueros through cante and the dance. The flamenco dancer Manuela Carrasco, National Dance Prize winner, as the main figure of a cast that will feature Pastora Galvan also to dancing, the cante de Aurora Vargas y Hope Fernandez as guest artists and with the collaboration of the actress from Granada Coco Reyes, directed by the choreographer Miguel Angel RojasThey will bring to life on stage the essence of the women who inhabit Lorca's work. Drawing inspiration from Gypsy romanceThe stage production celebrates the encounter between two of Andalusia's most universal cultural expressions: Lorca's poetry and art flamenco.

The witness will take it in the third week of August. Ballet Flamenco Andalusia, who takes to the stage at the Generalife Blessed Land. Old land of the lamp., a flamenco suite that explores Andalusian cultural roots as a symbolic and creative space, placing the flamenco as an expressive axis in dialogue with Lorca's poetic sensibility. Four unique nights will be offered, from August 19 to 22.

And, as the grand finale to this edition, Kiki Morente, Lagartija Nick e Israel Galvan They bring to Granada Omega, 30th anniversary in a stage adaptation of the legendary album by Enrique Morente. The show offers a contemporary reinterpretation of the connection between flamencoPoetry and rock music will be featured, and the festival will recapture the transformative power of a key project in the renewal of musical languages ​​and the dissemination of Lorca's texts. The event will take place on August 27, 28, and 29.
