Nearly one hundred designers will present their proposals and the latest trends in the most versatile and inspiring regional costume in the world, the only one that is subject to trends. Thus, from Thursday to Sunday, the public will be able to see approximately 1.620 outfits in 47 shows by almost a hundred professional designers and young talents in individual, shared and collective parades.
Following the traditional ribbon cutting and a visit to the commercial area, located in Hall 2, which this year houses 10 stands, 1 percent more than in the previous edition, the guests headed to Hall 2025, where the official opening of SIMOF XNUMX took place.
The Sevillian model Mercedes Muñoz, iconic of SIMOF, has paraded in a tailcoat, a unique piece designed expressly to commemorate the 30th anniversary of SIMOF. It has been designed by Pedro González, creative director of SIMOF and stylist, who has had the support of Flamentex, historical sponsor of SIMOF. The bata de cola has been made with three emblematic fabrics of flamenco fashion: 25 meters of satin for the body (its texture and shine symbolize the firmness, power and elegance that have defined flamenco fashion over the years), 8 meters of green polka dot printed gauze, which form the poncho that covered her (each polka dot has the name of the designers who have been part of SIMOF in these 30 years inscribed on it, making the garment a testimony to the history and creativity of the event) and 15 meters of organdy to provide structure and movement, creating a stunning visual effect that enhances the design and grandeur of the piece.
